Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Alan Young

Seriously, I can't believe he was in his 40's while doing Mr. Ed
And then he looks pretty much the same today except with gray hair.
    Wow, good for him.

Alan had such a "baby face" while he starred in MISTER ED that it was very hard to believe he was in his 40s. He does not look his age today.
      Yep, good for him.
I would love to call Alan and chat with him if I had a contact phone number.

Good for us too 🙂 The guy is a legend and still going strong. Scrooge McDuck will kick ass at 100 too i'm sure 🙂

I agree for back then he looked young but by today's standards, he looked 40ish to me. Back then 35 was considered "middle aged'.

To me, Alan has always looked and sounded younger than what he is.
I bought him a birthday card a couple of weeks ago. I hope he gets it when I send it.

              Really, though
              40 is not that old
. To me he looked every bit of 40 when he was on the show. To look old in your 40s is pre-mature ageing.

My family and friends disagree with you but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just remember how shocked I was when I first found out Alan Young's real age on MISTER ED. Whatever his age, I sincerely thought he was great for the part and handsome, sweet and charming.
It is unfortunate they don't make them like Alan any more.

I meant it as a compliment, because unlike some people, I consider 40 young and not old.
