This is the link to Deadline's article, one seemingly a bit more detailed than the others:

Hmm. Yeah, there has been some criticism online already. But I'll check out the book next week.
Anyway, this kinda speaks, again, to how name directors aren't really flocking to work with her. This seems to be a very indie project, once again. I'm fine with her picking lowkey films, but at least work with directors that have SOME significant reputation/critical success. She/her team can't seem to accomplish that. The script writer is an unknown too, so ehhh. Sounds like a good role that's within her wheelhouse, but I hope it's not another Brooklyn-like character.
So what does this mean for MQOS? Does she have room to start filming that one first half of the year? Or was that another false alarm.. Assuming it ever gets off, it will probably take two/three months or so?

''Sweetness in the Belly'' won't be released for a year or two, so I wouldn't worry about the small amount of criticism from silly trolls. Also, this project starts shooting in September, leaving her plenty of time to shoot ''Mary Queen of Scots'' and others.

Yes I'm hoping everyday for MQOS. About the "backlash" (and this seems like the best recipe for social media debates: just look at Scorsese's Silence) I'm looking through the book reviews and I haven't read any glaring criticisms about the lead character (and if it's truly a white savior role). Mostly some just criticizing its simplistic take on the culture? I think is more in the vein of romance like last year's A United Kingdom.

From the recent reporting, MQOS really seems like a go. Most likely it'll start shooting within the next couple of months. I'm psyched for it.
I checked with Barnes and Noble today, and the lady told me it wasn't in stock. So, I ordered it for pickup soon. I'll have to do research to get a feel for those involved in scriptwriting and of course the director. She is continuing to gravitate toward material that's compelling to her even if the main players behind the scenes are not well known and established talents. I'm not referring to the producers.
If I'd a better knowledge of the industry, then perhaps I could put forward a cogent case as to why she isn't working with big time directors at this time. Crowley is very talented, but I'm referring to those titans considered the cream of the crop. It's not like we're the only ones who realize how extraordinarily gifted she is as a film actress. My God, those Brooklyn reviews were incredible across the board. I just listened to Mark Kermode of the BBC last night once again and marveled at how gobsmacked he was when describing her talent.

I'm just wondering will she star in ''The Goldfinch''? I can't imagine Crowley not bringing her on-broad!

That would definitely qualify as a big studio role. Here's hoping.

Oh and I forget, does this means no press work from her on fall/autumn?

She'll be contracted to do press for ''On Chesil Beach'', ''LadyBird'' & ''Loving Vincent''. ''On Chesil Beach'' & ''Loving Vincent'' are both awards season contenders, so it's likely she will be campaigning too.

A lot of people seem to think that Ronan is playing an immigrant again.no, she's playing a REFUGEE!

yeah if this really goes ahead, then she's gonna have to skip TIFF? let us hope one of her films gets Cannes spot

If ''On Chesil Beach'' goes to TIFF, which I think it will, she'll have to be there.
