I still haven't seen Moneyball so this was the first time I've actually seen Jonah Hill not in Jonah Hill mode, and I was pretty impressed. He wasn't excellent, but he was pretty good. What I want to know is, did he really only get $60 000 for that movie? I know he's not A-list, but still, it seems like a pretty small number for such a big movie.

He seemed pretty Jonah Hill to me. Good perfomance, but c'mon, nothing to write home about.
As the guy from Honest Trailers said "Jonah Hill proved that he went from being the funny fat guy from Superbad to be the funny fat guy in a Scorsese movie".

Moneyball, Wolf of Wall Street, Knocked Up and Superbad are probably his best roles.

He doesn't look like a smoker. To me he looks like a nerdy high school outcast who wants to fit in with his peers.
              That's just my POV.

I think this performance in this film will be a benchmark. When he's older people will talk about his career pre and post The Wolf of Wall Street. He is now on a different level of acting.

I have to disagree entirely. I believe if his role had been cut entirely from the movie, we would all have benefited, from a shorter runtime, less wasted overacted idiocy and a chance to watch Dicaprio shine better.

Agreed OP. I thought he was amazing in The Wolf Of Wall Street. He`s become a great actor.
