It is a funny thread, I'm just surprised how infrequently her joke thievery is mentioned when weighing her worth as a comedian. Who cares if she's fat, slutty or foul-mouthed. Nothing wrong with those angles of comedy, though she does lean too heavily (

I liked some of her interviewsshes witty for sure
And she became voice of feminism very fastand with that pushing a social commentary into her jokes and showplus being very hypocritical and offended even though shes a comedian

Wow. I'm sure no other female comedian thought of cheap sex jokes and making fun of the opposite sex ever before. Real genius she is. Just recycling what every other average comedian has been doing at stand up bars for years. -

Before her talk show, Chelsea Handler actually did that shtick much better and funnier. Handler was actually pretty funny before she turned so bitter.
I just don't get how Schumer has gotten this far. I listened to her act for 5 minutes and was bored to death. But, then I felt the same about Dane Cook who I never understood but sells millions.
That's the bad thing about too many comediennes. 90% are either bitter or it's always the "I'm a tramp who has lots of sex" gags which are lame. -

Handler was actually pretty funny bef1c84ore she turned so bitter.
I think Handler was always bitter, she just didn't show it. She only got her talk show because she was the girlfriend of one of the big E! executives. However after some success on the show, she kicked him to the curb and even tried to branch out in Network TV. It didn't go over so well for her there though.
I just don't get how Schumer has gotten this far.
A lot of it has to do with timing. Amy's a bigger girl who is in the spotlight in the moment. She was riding the liberal girl power wave for a little while too, but that's starting to come crashing down.
Fortunately for her, her movie Train Wreck was a hit and she signed several contracts before all of antics caught up with her. -
