Ew no. Spiderman is suppose to be a teenager. No one wants to see Spidey as a full grown deep voiced 43 year old man. That's not who he is. They went even younger with Miles Morales, who's like 12 and 5 feet 2 inches.
I really like the casting. We'll be able to watch Peter grow until his death.

Lol! Except all the true Spider-Man comic fans who know Peter was that age for like five seconds in all of his publication history.
Yeah being an adult with a low paying job trying to balance TRUE love, his family and being a superhero is boring.
That being said, Tom will probably do fine and will be an excellent child Petey.
Maybe next reboot we'll get a more mature and experienced Peter.

Tobey Maguire was 25 when he got cast and Andrew Garfield was 27 or 28 when he got cast.

He looks 13, sounds 13.5. Like any moment his voice will break into a pre-puberty state.

No, he doesn't. You've just been sucked in by Hollywood b.s. and their habit of casting 28-year-old actors to play high school students. Thus you're so used to seeing crows' feet at the corners of the eyes of "17-year-olds" that you think anyone without them "looks 13".
Go out into the real world and look again.

I will agree with you. 2 Spidermans we had were played by older guys. For me as a kid Peter Parker (Tobey) was interesting as not only he was dealing with crime, but grown up problem such as love, friendship and being.. responsible.
Yet after watching CW with Tom Holland, well he is alright. He is not really annoying, but I wish someone of Kick-Ass guy was cast instead.
Also team up with a more adult person with Deadpool could be more fun 😆

Tobey Maguire doesn't age, you can take him out of the teenagers list.

Spider-Man had many adventure and history as a adult in the comic book he doesn't always have to be a teenager in every live action

I agree Spider-Man has had many great stories as an adult in over 50 years of comic history. Great stories as a kid too, but some of the best Spidey stories came when Peter Parker was an over 21 year old adult. Even 30+ year old adult. But the live action versions always want to snap him back to high school and being a kid whose in the 15-17 year old range.
I don't mind Tom Holland, I saw Civil War and Tom surprised me with how great he was with the role. He was very spot on. It is cool and an interesting twist having this kid with all the adult heroes.
He's even younger with his portrayal then either Tobey or Andrew. Tobey and Andrew were going for 17-19 year old Peter Parkers, whereas Tom seems to be going for a 14 or 15 year old.

Guess you don't know much about Spider Man then. He was 15 when he was bitten. As we found out in CW, he's been Spidey for 6 months. You do the math.

They are planning to have him as Spidey for at least the next decade. He will grow into being that more mature Peter Parker over the course of the franchise.

Putting him back in high school is redundant when the character just graduated in the previous film.
