dagon is art at it's highest achieving level.
    Yes, it's an excellent film.
and the half fish/half human girl was so ****ing hot. geez who cares that she's not fully human, i'd **** her in a heartbeat even if i was petrified of doing it bc of what she looks like!
would you **** her if you had the chance?
If I was a Lovecraftian half-fish creature I'd probably like to mate with her. Otherwise, I prefer the other girl (the main character's girlfriend), she was a real catch!
i've watched price in countless movies at this point and he's always great, no matter what movie he's in. he was particularly great in the tingler. have you watched this movie?
Yes, The Tingler is my favorite William Castle film. It's on my Top 50 list. Other Castle films I love are 13 Ghosts, The House on Haunted Hill (another classic with Vincent Price), The Spirit is Willing, Mr. Sardonicus, Homicidal and The Old Dark House remake.
what is sophie's user name on here? there's is a sophie on here that i've talked to.
Sophieglitch is her latest account, I believe. She has others, most have the name 'Sophie' in them. Yes, you've probably talked to her.
you agree with exactly what about me saying the 1980s is the best decade ever as far as how many visionary movies, tv shows, music, and toys were made in the 1980s?
I agree with you that it was great decade as far as movies, music and TV shows go.
Toys in the 80s? Does the Rubik's Cube count? I loved those things.
i didn't know you were into punk rock music. some of the movies i've mentioned on here horror movies you've never watched so you never know if you liked punk rock music. i think there is a connection with a person liking punk rock music and liking horror movies.
Yes, a lot of punk fans seem to enjoy horror films.
bc they both represent an anarchic sensibility and aesthetic. and often times outcasts like to listen to punk rock music and watch horror movies.
    True.
exactly i've always imagined the band is better with glenn danzig than without. can't believe glenn danzig goes as far back in music as 1977, that makes him really old now. πŸ™‚ wonder why he left the misfits?
He had musical and personal differences with the other band members. The brothers Doyle and Jerry, the Misfits' guitarist and bassist, were notoriously sloppy musicians, which is fine for punk rock, but Danzig wanted to move on musically and start playing more complex material. In 1983 he started Samhain, a Gothic/metal/post-punk band; the band's music was a step up from the Misfits. The horror themes remained but there was also a more "serious" occult element to the band's lyrics and image. Eventually, Samhain morphed into the band Danzig in 1987 and Glenn took his music in a much more mainstream metal/hard rock direction. I prefer Samhain over both the Misfits and Danzig.
danzig is a big fan of the band black sabbath. i know this from watching his episode of that metal show about 10 years ago with bill ward, the original drummer of black sabbath. danzig said that their first album, self tilted album is one of the most influential albums ever made. do you like black sabbath?
Yes, love them esp. that first album and the Paranoid LP and the Heaven and Hell LP, which is the first album they did with Dio on vocals.

but if the half fish girl/half human girl was more beautiful than any other girl in dagon wouldn't you want to have sex with her more than with any other girl in this film? so isn't it more important what a girl looks like than the fact that she is only half human?
i've watched mr. sardonius thought it was really bad and really boring.
did you know that william castle actually produced rosemary's baby? i find this extremely odd. i just found this out about a year ago. i find this extremely odd bc when i think of castle i think of old '50s innocent, kids horror films like the tingler or house on haunted hill not something evil and adult horror like rosemary's baby.

i love that samhain is a gothic band bc i love gothic music like bauhaus. do you love bauhaus?
what about the black sabbath album master of reality? do you love it? also do you love their album sabatoge? i heard they came back with ronnie james dio and made their hardest rocking album ever with sabotage.
what's interesting to me is dio not only made the album heaven and hell with bs but also made the band called heaven and hell with richie blackmore.
also they had the drummer vinnie apacie when they made sabatoge who is the younger brother of drummer carmine apiece.

I thought the other woman (Spanish actress Raquel Merono Coello) was more attractive. I like Southern European women.
The actress who played the half-fish girl is attractive too. But, sexually, I'd prefer her as a human not a half-fish person. I don't believe in interspecies sex.

No, but that's interesting. Maybe he agreed to produce Rosemary's Baby after seeing Polanski's Fearless Vampire Killers (1967), which was much more of a horror comedy film and similar in some ways to Castle's tongue in cheek horror films.

Are you sure she wasn't just joking around or that you weren't talking to someone who was pretending to be her (we have a lot of impostors on this board)?
My interactions with her have been pleasant.

Yeah, I like Bauhaus but I'm not much of a Pixies fan (admittedly, I haven't heard much by them).
what about the black sabbath album master of reality? do you love it? also do you love their album sabatoge?
Yes and yes. Those are both classic Sabbath albums.

no way, you'd actually have sex with the half fish girl if she was fully human over the more beautiful girl in this film if she was a half fish girl? that's amazing to me bc you said your mind is in the 1800s so i'd think you would be more independent of a thinker than liver than that. more open minded than that.
nothing wrong with sex with animals by the way. if you are a girl nothing wrong with having sex with a gigantic donged horse and nothing wrong with me watching you having sex with said gigantic donged horse. i mean they have freaking insanely big dongs so every girl at least has thought of in a fantasy way about having sex with a horse.
yes, i'm so glad you mentioned the fearless vampire killers bc this is such a wonderful film and its so well made. its almost a classic.
do you love it? i thought it was boring in a lot of parts bc well it was made in 1967 so it almost has to be boring to me but i liked a lot of it and thought it was quite original and quite clever with it's humor and lines of dialogue.
also it's quite ahead of it's time as far as it being a vampire film with comedy and it's humor was quite ahead of it's time and quite clever with it's humor and lines of dialogue.
yes, didn't i tell you she pretended and professed to love me and get together with me? also she sent me nude pics of herself and even audio recordings of her voice.
she did everything you can possibly expect from a girl who wants to be with you in a relationship but then would not reply for 2 months and did this more than once and when i asked her to please talk to me she would either say nothing or said she will but never did. she's a horrible person who only wanted attention.

Yes, there's plenty wrong with it. Humans shouldn't be having sex with animals. Period.

What went on between you and her is none of my business so I really can't comment on any of that but I find it hard to believe that she sent any guy here nude photos of herself.

Katharine Hepburn spells her name this way.
But she probably does not count because she's a manly lesbian who doesn't have any tits.
What do you think of Bette Davis? She had pretty big tits. In Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? her tits come down to her stomach. Do you like old ladies with big tits?

You can probably title it under a "cult classic" these days, as I believe the years have been kind to the film. The Stepford Wives was modestly successful during its initial release, but wasn't a huge hit on par with previous cinematic adaptations of Ira Levin novels. Which was what the studio was hoping for im sure.
Its not a film that has enjoyed numerous re-releases on dvd, bluray, like other films, so its very much a cult classic as it certainly has its place, but I wouldn't go as far as claiming the film is mainstream.
I really feel sorry for anyone who watched only the Nicole Kidman version and not this one. Talk about "missing out"!

"the years have been kind to the film." it's very entertaining even to me who is a gen x person which is very impressive. so it's not a usual slow moving '70s movie, it's entertaining all the way through, that's why it holds up so well according to my film likes.

It has sequels and a parody remake.
                        Revenge of The Stepford Wives
                        ,
                        The Stepford Husbands
                        and
                        The Stepford Children
                        Are you okay?

I like Revenge of The Stepford Wives. It's a decent sequel.

Its mainstream but its lack of availability on Blu-Ray and not being showcased on the main streaming services hardly ever much has confused people into thinking its a cult film.

I found a used copy of the DVD on Amazon for a few dollars. That was years ago though. New copies of the DVD are currently selling for $36. Amazing that it's not available on Blu-ray.

Yeah, I remember buying the dvd of the original shortly before the Nicole Kidman version was released in theaters. Which obviously pales in comparison to the subtlety nuisances of the 70s cult classic.
About the best thing I liked about the Nicole Kidman reboot of The Stepford Wives was the teaser trailer. I'm not sure if the film itself really had a specific identity? As some of the Stepford wives seemed simply hypnotized, while others came across as actual cyborgs.
I remember reading somewhere that some people involved with the reboot were under the impression that the film would be akin to the psychological thriller the original was, while others thought the film was going to be an outright comedy.
Apparently, this confusion carried over to the film itself.
Thankfully, the original was MUCH more focused and CLEARLY the better film by a mile!

Thanks for the heads up on the remake. I haven't seen it yet, and judging by what I've heard about it, I'm in no rush to see it.

don't ever do it bc then you will be condoning and supporting it's existence which is the worst thing you can do to the original.

i was so ticked off when i saw they remade it that i couldn't stand it.
it's yet another "cash grab easy money remake of a classic film so lets **** on the original film by making a completely unnecessary and not anywhere close to as great of a film as the original film bc it's impossible to make a remake as great as the original film film.
and you know what they also remade robocop, ghostbusters, footloose, and a nightmare on elm street. all movies that can not be remade bc it's impossible for them to be any better which should be the only reason a remake is made, can it be better than the original.

you should also avoid the remake of the stepford wives bc it can't be better than the original.
apparently i just heard this from my sister. one of her all time favorite films the princess bride, filmmakers were working on a remake of it. this better not happen ever.
my sister made a funny line about this that she read on a website about this remake. someone make a reference to a line in this film about the remake. it was "it would be a waste of a perfect film, in reference to the line, it would be a waste of perfect breasts," a line made about princess buttercups's tits.
it's interesting how she views a remake of a film as making it worse for her and the original film. a remake if you really think about it does nothing to the original film. it just makes us resent the remake, and the existence of the remake bc to us, the loyal fan of the original, it shouldn't exist.
i can't believe they remade the texas chainsaw massacre and black christmas and the last house on the left and i spit on your grave and the hills have eyes. i really could go on and on listing all these horror movie classics that they had no right to make remakes of.
the only horror film that has been made since 2003 that should have been made is silent night, but it want' a remake it was just a tribute movie bc it wasn't like the original at all, it just has a very similar tribute to the deer antler impaling linnea quigley scene.
you really have to watch the most comprehensive and very informative documentary in search of darkness. you can watch it for free on this website. just look up this documentary and click on the video for it.
the filmmakers of classic horror films made in the '80s take the time to talk about almost every important horror movie made in the '80s, film by film, year by year.
