wait, the wizard of oz(1939) is a remake? i didn't know there is a movie called the wizard of oz made before this movie.
    The earliest surviving film version
    The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
    is from 1910.
But there were a few adaptations of L. Frank Baum's book.
The 1925 film version was based on the stage play.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adaptations_of_The_Wizard_of_Oz
i heard one person say scarface(1983) is a bad movie.
    Some like it…others don't.
It's over the top, but it's become a cult classic.
    Eyes Wide Shut
is adapted from the 1926 novel,
    Traumnovelle
    (Dream Story) by Arthur Schnitzler.
There's a film version of it from 1969.
    The first film version of
    The Maltese Falcon
    is from 1931
about footloose remake: did you watch it only bc of the hot girl lead?
No…one of the actors in a supporting role.
    Are you okay?

i didn't know that. interesting. if you asked 100 people on the street, random people is there a movie the wizard of oz before the version from 1939, 99 people wouldn't know that there is a version before the 1939 version.
did you know there is a movie called i married a witch from 1942? amazing. i just watched it it stars veronica lake and it's what obviously inspired bewitched the tv show bc the main girl acts just like samantha and she has the same relationship with her dad that samantha has with her witch mom and it has the same light humor that bewitched has too, the same tone.
it's a amazing to me that a big hollywood movie with a big hollywood actress veronica lake actually made a movie about witches in 1942!!!
how do you know about all these obscure movie facts? are you on wikipedia every day or something?
i love obscure and unique movies. i love parts of the movie the crimson cult.
what is the name of the movie in which there is a moon with a face on it and it has a monocle over one of it's eyes? it's a movie from like the 1920s.

        The Anniversary Editions of
        The Wizard of Oz
DVDs include the older silent films on the bonus discs as well as documentaries about the history of the film.
I've just been into a lot of movies since I was very young…even before I was using the Internet.
I started with old video catalogs from warehouses and had a video store near me as a kid with a lot of rare stuff.
And it helped that I knew some people that knew a lot about the subject to help guide me.
But yea, I do research on things and check Wikipedia now and then.
        And yea,
        I Married A Witch
is what Bewitched was based on…with some inspiration from
        Bell, Book & Candle
        as well -
        I assume you mean
        A Trip To The Moon
from 1902, which had hand printed color on some early prints
        Are you okay?

i love that you talked about bell, book, and candle bc i just thought about this movie after thinking about i married a witch when writing the last message that i sent to you about this movie.
a trip to the moon might be this movie not sure though, its interesting bc in the smashing pumpkins video for tonight, tonight it has that moon image and guys dressed like the guys are dressed in that picture you just sent me. so this might be that movie. my friend said its a about 2 sets of people, one living under ground. is this in this movie?
what are old video catalogues from warehouses?

I'd say yes to that. It was a major pop culture sensation in its day and remains popular today.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

Heard of it but never saw it because it sounds like some coming of age feel good chick-flick that probably stars Diane Keaton…not that there's any wrong with her.
