      Hate the Cubs, so, no.
Was a great game, and good for the fans to finally experience a W. But Royals/Giants in 2014 was a better overall series. And Cardinals/Rangers in Game 6 2011 was a better game.
Sucks for Cleveland and their fans too. Blowing a 3-1 lead and especially not being able to pull it out after the huge comeback gotta hurt. I'd say maybe next year for them but my Buccos are taking it. Hopefully, I say that every year. 20 years of losing seasons still keeps me from any confidence.

Great game and series. That's about as good as baseball gets, though not because they were playing particularly good baseball! I feel lucky to have watched one game earlier this season of a now transcendent team, in Wrigley Field naturally, with my son.

As a non-American, though a fan of everything Illinois (I spent my exchange year there over 40 years ago), congrats to the Cubs.
That being said, may I remind everybody that the moniker "World Series" for a game that's essentially played only in the U.S., that most of the remainder of the actual world doesn't even know the rules of, and if they do, considers the game terminally boring, is a little preposterous. For me, I sort of took a liking for football while spending a year in the States, but baseball? See above. Next best thing to Valium.

Baseball is extraordinarily popular in Korea, Japan, and most Latin American countries.
It's not a US exclusive, certainly not the way football is.

While I do agree baseball is a bore to watch and understandit is not as bad as cricket. Matches can last hours and sometimes days.

Baseball oscillates between being the most boring (or close) to being the most intriguing; it all depends on the investment of the moment.
There is probably not an event more dramatic than this game sevento those who care about the outcome. But when you don't care, yes it is boring. It's different than more "spectacular" sports that wayit swaps spectacle for tension.
Baseball is the FRWL of the sports world.

It all depends on whether it's a regular season game or the World Series. It really makes a "World" of difference!!

This is true. A good portion of Latin America as well as Japan play baseball. Tom Selleck even starred in MR. BASEBALL which dealt with a Japanese baseball team.

It is popular in Canada. Also, the Aussies play it to some degree. It has a small but devoted following in the Netherlands and Italy.

See, pep? Me personally, I hate football. Can't watch it, can't play it. Have no interest in it. And I do realize how popular it is here. The Super Bowl has to be the most overrated night of television EVER! Now, futbol is a whole different story. I like!

If I had one on hand, I'd also include a picture of my high school baseball team winning our state championship, a great and proud moment that I shared with a team and where everyone contributed. Of course there's glory in such a thing. Winning in general is worthy of glory.

Team sports are anathema to me
Bap's disdain for team sports is understandable. It can be traced back to his experiences as a wee lad on Cardiff playgrounds. You can't really blame him for feeling that way. He was always the last one selected for choose-up games, and the other kids would never pass the ball to him.
