          Das Boot and Road Warrior are 1981 movies, not 1982. Das Boot came out in Europe in 1981 and Road Warrior came out in Australia and Japan and a couple of other European countries in December 1981 before both came to the US in 1982.
          Even both copyrighted 1981.

            perhaps poster is like myself I attach films to their US release date.. after all, that's when I first have access to them.

              Come on..that argument is nonsense. A film has one release year..not two..being the first time it plays to a paying audience;
              If everyone is on the same page..then these stubborn quibbles will cease.

                now why would I attach a film to a year where I couldn't even view it for ratings and comparison purposes it makes no sense to me.. that's just me I guess

                  I get it. If I watch
                  gone with the wind
                  in 1985..it's a 1985 movie. Good luck with that.

                    first off, there was never an argument although it sounds like you're trying to start one. I simply stated an observation/hypothesis.
