Yeah the were today I look in the cereal isle at the store when grocery shopping and its just plainboring. I love how people took chances with cereal and made it fun for kids prizes are something I hardly see in cereal boxes. I guess today they have to be safe some kid might swallow it.

While introduced prior to the 1990s and not technically a snack, I recall that McDonald's Happy Meals came with cool things in the 1990s, including a cool toy related to (I think) the 1996 Olympics (it involved trying to flick a tiny ball into something). I live in Australia, and recall that toy continuing to be occasionally issued with Happy Meals for several years (usually when nothing else was going on), indicating that the Australian division of McDonald's had too many in stock and didn't manage to give them all away during the Olympics itself.
It's strange to think I was so incredibly amused by such a simple and cheap plastic toy.
I also recall with great fondness a Sonic the Hedgehog canned pasta thing, but I am not sure if it was late-1990s or early-2000s. I ate it even though the taste wasn't very good, simply because I liked Sonic so much.

I remember them! I clicked on the link, and saw that I had some of those toys. I especially remember the glow-in-the-dark trolls. But speaking of the snacks, I used to always bring Lunchables Pizzas for lunch in elementary school, and I would agree it made you feel cool. They also had Lunchables Tacos, Nachos, Burgers, Hotdogs and breakfast foods briefly. I was also a fruit snack kid. I remember dinosaur fruit snacks and the shark ones, as well. Then there was that soda called Surge, which tasted almost like Mello Yello.

That is so true thanks for posting that. When I was a kid in school I never brought my lunch to school I always had the meal ticket to eat in the cafeteria but I remember one time in the 4th grade I begged her to let me bring a lunch to school like some of my friends did. I think I had the sandwich just like on that article, some chips, something sweet and unhealthy.lol, I think it was the ring dings (wrapped up in foil).
I remember the bugles I used to do that with those chips and pretend that I had some nails.

Gatorade Lemon Ice - This was the best flavor! I don't know why they discontinued it.
Sloppy Joes - Not really a snack but they were very popular at school.
French Toast Crunch - They're bringing this one back!
Choco Taco - I used to always get these at the nearby convenience store.
Toaster Strudel - One of those sweets-disguised-as-breakfast foods. I loved to eat the icing separate from the pastry.
Ice Cream Snicker Bars - Yum! They sold these at my school and summer camp.
                    Hands off the pie

When you said French Toast Crunch I was thinking of Cinnamon toast crunch. I remember that cereal I didn't like it. Chaco tacois that the ice cream shaped like a taco? I seen that in stores I know we stocked those in our ship store on the ship when I was in the Navy.

Really? I've always considered Cinnamon Toast Crunch the crème de la crème of cereal. The cinnamon-flavored milk it left behind was the taste of victory! But yeah, French Toast was a spin off the cereal. It looked like miniature toast.

I used to love Lemon Ice Gatorade. That was my favorite flavor. Don't know why they discontinued it. They still make Toaster Strudels and Snickers Ice Cream bars, though.

It's funny. Gatorade used to have an under the cap contest, and at the time, Lemon Ice was the only completely clear flavor. If you looked up through the bottom of the bottle at the right angle, you could sort of make out what was written on the cap. I discovered that trick and used it to win dozens of Gatorades of various sizes, a $25 phone card, a CD player, a baseketball, a couple of towels, and some other stuff. I was drinking free Gatorade for a year, basically.
Not saying that's the reason they discontinued it, but I have to wonder how many other people knew the trick.

Really? You was lucky you won some prizes. I could never win prizes on items like that, like you said there was probably a trick to it. Anyways, I remember the lemon Gatorade, I remember some mystery flavored candy with Starburst and you had to guess what the flavor is and send it in to them and you would win a prize. Of course that discontinued.
Does anyone remember this candy called Dye Hard? It was a lollipop that have your whole mouth the color of the lollipop just like if you drank some dye. It think it was around for a year or so.

I don't remember that one. It must have been obscure. Back in the day, the popular lollipops were Blow Pops. I also remember Ring Pops, Push Pops, and those pops that came in a baby bottle (some weird candies came out in the 90s!).

I loved 3D Doritos. The Jalepeno flavors were good, too. I remember in 7th grade, when I had braces and just had them put on, it was harder for me to chew things with the brackets at first, so I had to crumble them and eat them that wayLittle Hugs are still around. I don't really care for those, but my younger brother drinks themMinute Maid Juice Bars were sold at school, and I wasn't crazy about those eitherDunkaroos are also still around but very hard to find. Where I live, you can find the ones with vanilla frosting. One of my friends used to live in Texas and she said the ones with the chocolate frosting were available there, but this was back in 2011.I've also seen Trix Yogurt recentlyThe Push Ups, I liked as a kid. Especially the vanilla ones with the candy sprinklings.

Happily, they are still around, but the packaging was nicer in the 1990s.
