Neon Genesis Evangelion
It was Cowboy Bebop before that, but only because I wasn't able to watch Evangelion until about three years ago. It wasn't the kind of anime you'd find on Toonami and I never really searched for it before despite the fact that people often went on about how great it was. Saw it was on Netflix back in October 2019 and decided to watch it. I think I watched the whole thing in a matter of three days, including the first movie which was meant to serve as the intended ending for the show.
The show made me go through a bit of an existential crisis that led to a deep depression, but it's still definitely my favorite โ I'm a bit of a masochist. A few anime I've watched since then have come close, though. Those being Hunter x Hunter, Re:Zero, Attack on Titan, and 86.

Good ****!
I saw them when they first aired in Australia when I was 13, having to wait a ****ing week for each episode
They blew me away at the time.
Then I think it was 4 or more years before I got to see the actual ending with those 2 โmoviesโ they did to correct the choppy mess of a season finale they put together due to running out of money.
So stoked about the remakes coming out, Shame theyโre so full of random fan service though.. -

Yeah, when I first went through the series, I didn't bother with the last two or three episodes since I heard that, despite everyone saying the show is amazing, the ending was just a bunch of weirdness. I guess Hideiki Anno, the guy who created the series, said something about how all of what you see in the last few episodes was just what was going on in the main characters' heads during the final act of The End of Evangelion. But since the budget was slashed by the time those episodes were in production (I guess the studio was concerned with the amount of violence and sexual content the show had), he wasn't able to conclude it the way he wanted.

Yeah, I was totally confused by it as a young teenager, had no internet to look it up or talk about it on forums either.
But it did add to the whole feeling of the series being a downward spiral into insanity.
The proper ending was so much more satisfying though. Gigantic Uber Rei falling apart in the ocean, epic.
Really curious to see where they go with the ending of the remakes, it seems to be playing out a little differently. -

Yeah, I feel like they're going for a more "uplifting" conclusion with the remakes. The fourth and final one's on Amazon Prime now (along with the other three). Heard that it was excellent. Definitely going to be watching it sometime in the next week or so once I've finished up this series I've been watching for the past monthโฆ and watched the third. Still haven't done that.

Iโll have to rewatch all 3 remakes before seeing the fourth, I didnโt even know it was released
Hopefully it has the English dub, I watch them all dubbed because of the same English cast being used as the original series - even though Shinjiโs whiny bitch boy voice can get a bit annoying. -

Havenโt seen as much as actual anime fans, but from what Iโve seen..
Series: Neon Genesis, Berserk, Castlevania
Movies: AKIRA!, Ninja Scroll, Ghost in the Shell, Street Fighter (itโs just well made fan service, and HAS to be the English dub due to the music)
Also pretty much all the Studio Ghibli movie directed by Hayao Miyazaki is awesome, havenโt seen one that fails to impress as of yet. -

Itโs not quite as stupid as this **** looked in that one single image heโs had the balls to share online.
He should post more about how A Quiet Place is some kind of masterpiece that absolutely doesnโt somehow manage to make emotions and tension seem boring and pretentious.
