    The Crazies is another!
except in this case I knew about the original but had no interest to watch it until after the remake

Not horror but I've never bothered watching the original Scarface. The fly is another already mentioned.

Fright Night. Only because it had Colin Farrell in it.

          I don't think I've ever
          deliberately
watched a remake before the original, but it has happened on a number of occasions. Like KING KONG (1976), INVADERS FROM MARS (1986) and HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (1999).

The only good things about the Oldboy remake are Elizabeth Olsen's boobs. I wouldn't watch it even though Olsen's boobs are really really good.
CG gore is the worst thing that has ever happened to the horror genre.

              Deliberately seeing a remake
isn't that the title of Madonna's 80 movie's about her cousin who trolls her while making the papa don't preach video or somehting?

If I were given the choice of watching the original or the remake.no doubt I would choose the original! Seriously??? People actually make the deliberate decision to skip the original and watch the remake to see if they'll like it? Maybe it's because I was born the year The Exorcist was released in theaters and was exposed to great horror films before remakes became a common thing.

                    I know right?
"Hey dude I just watched the remake of The Fog. One of the worst movies I've ever seen bro. Guess I'm gonna skip the original"

I was born the year of The Omen, so you're only slightly older than me.
I know what you mean, I just think that once in a blue moon, the remake seems a more appealing choice.
Your sarcasm has driven me to idiocy.
