If anyone scoffs at Cruise’s acting ability I tell them to go watch those two and get back to me. Phenomenal films and he’s pitch perfect in them. He’s much more convincing as asshole characters than squeaky clean Ethan Hunt types.
Eyes Wide Shut- fast becoming my favorite Kubrick. The part doesn’t demand anything special from Cruise but he’s very good in it, and the film is a true modern classic that just gets more prescient as time goes on…
