She was a beautiful blonde and a classic right up until she died in the 80s.
I take it that this thread was simply a personal statement…
Nobody else was allowed to share their opinion???
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

She would still look a lot better than she does if she wasn't a heavy smoker

Jessica Lange had auditioned for
Saturday Night Fever
but lost the role to the then daytime soap star, Karen Lynn Gorney
It was the role she would rather have, since film critics were very brutal on her at the time thinking she'd never be able to act…it took her a few years to prove them wrong.
Ironically, Karen Lynn Gorney's career took a huge dive, and even after she posed fully nude to get some attention a few years after, she was ignored by casting directors, and faded into obscurity.
Kim Basinger's first audition was for the role that went to Jessica Lange in
King Kong
A very young Melanie Griffith also auditioned for the part
A young, unknown at the time, Bo Derek, was offered the role, but she turned it down
Britt Ekland was also offered the part and turned it down
Farrah Fawcett, who had just completed her small role in
Logan's Run
, had been considered for the part, but she had gotten a call from Charlie that seemed like a better offer
Other contenders of that period were -
Nancy Allen
Susan Blakely
Cybill Shepherd
Misty Rowe
Coleen Camp
Sue Lyon
And Meryl Streep was turned down for being too ugly -
Are you okay? -
