Uh, no? Seems like a year picked at random.
      Tell me more!

Based on my album purchases, I would say no.
For example, I bought nine 2007 releases and literally twice that number of 2014 releases.

I would say the early 2000s.

I suppose if I'm going to accept some arbitrary date to be the last great time for music - and I do feel that I
                      have
to - it may as well be that one.

There is no noun that cannot be verbed.

Me I consider 1995 to be the last great year of music, once "Macarena" became a major hit that was around the time when music really started to go downhill (at least Top 40 music that is)

Yeah, after that, it started to shift towards bubblegum pop artists and groups that the late 90s/early 2000s are notoriously known for.

Could you maybe expand on that theory? Or are you so intellectually bankrupt that you can't?

i'd say the last great year in music was 1994. It's kind of been downhill every since.

Why don't you explain your 'thinking' - cite some examples as to why - & perhaps you could also have the fuqqing decency to reply to those who've replied to youor do you suddenly feel silly & out of your depth?
What difference would 'accepting it' make anyway?

Re music in general, every year is great.
Re Top 40, I'd say the last great year was mid-80s-ish, and the last few years have been particularly dire for Top 40.
