    Hey Man!
I did not think about that Bobby Darin album although I am fan.
(He is one of those artists I mentally place in the "singles" category - whether fairly or not.)
    Will give a listen . . .

    Actually, I think Cat's album is '67.

Great list as always. (I was wondering if you were going with Dylan or Beatles for the #1 spot.)

Shoot, don't know how that's there. I already had it in 1967, though a lot farther down.

          3. The Kinks - Face to Face
          4. Cream - Fresh Cream
          5. John Lee Hooker - The Real Folk Blues

            Hey, man.
What do you consider the best Kinks studio album?
For me they never delivered a consistent album. Love many of their songs tho'.
            Something Else
            comes closest imo . . .

Probably Village Green, with Lola right behind it.

                The Beatles - Revolver
The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
                Cream - Fresh Cream
Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde
Simon & Garfunkel - Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme
I sometimes find music so cathartic that it makes me lethargic

                  Hey Muckle
                  Hmm.
                  Pet Sounds
This must be whispered: I really don't enjoy that album with the exception of 2-3 great songs.
I read the books. Saw the movie. But still . . .

                  Revolver
the greatest Beatles? What say ye?

It's like me thinking Sgt Peppers is the most over rated album of all time. The first two songs are great and then filler. A Day in the Life might also be the most over rated song of all time!
You may be right, I might be crazy, but it just may be a lunatic you are looking for!

Same. Sloop John B and Wouldn't It Be Nice, which I suppose are a bit lusher than their earlier surf catalog. But those are all. My favorite Beach Boys songs are Good Vibrations and I Get Around.

                            What's up Dayodead.
I've said this about other bands: I am a fan of the Animals but always put them in the singles category. (Naturally I will listen to those posted. I know they did the US/UK slight differences thing.)
And Mr. Question Mark had more than the one monster hit?

                              Animalism
                              (US) and
                              Animalisms
(UK) only share two tracks, both singles, so they are essentially separate releases.
96 Tears is a solid garage album

Another great year, but based on quantity rather than greatness.
                                    Revolver-Beatles
                                    Blonde on Blonde-Bob Dylan
                                    Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme
                                    Yesterday and Today-Beatles
                                    Sounds of Silence-Simon and Garfunkel
                                    Aftermath-Rolling Stones
                                    Who-A Quick One
                                    Soul and Inspiration-Righteous Brothers
                                    Rascals-Rascals
                                    Fifth Dimension-Byrds
                                    Sunshine Superman-Donovan
                                    Pet Sounds-Beach Boys
                                    Roger the Engineer-Yardbirds
I think that the Rascals might have been Americas best group. I think I missed their two best Albums(Groovin and Collections) in the 1967 and 1968 years. I really liked Collections. The only Great album was the Beatles-Yesterday and Today.
You may be right, I might be crazy, but it just may be a lunatic you are looking for!

Hey Henry. Once again you and I have a decent overlap, but I should really check out
                                      Roger The Engineer
. I don't think I've ever heard the entire album.
I weighed in on Pet Sounds above
I won't hold it against you (if you don't hold my opinion of
                                      Blonde On Blonde
                                      against me
                                      ).
I guess I should try Love beyond
                                      Forever Changes
                                      I think
                                      Forever Changes
is their best complete album, but the two released before it are also pretty good. If you like
                                      Forever Changes
, there will definitely be tracks on the other two that you will enjoy, it's just a matter of how many.
