Vodkie, that's the version of the song that should've been released, but India's label thought it would sound better with a rapper. Why, I don't know.

Agreed. That version was used in a lifetime movie and india Arie told billboard this was her original version of the song but it fell through the cracks

I love that song too! It's amazing how that song came out in 2005, but it sounded more like it came out straight from 1995.
She's been greatly slept on. In Love and War was a pretty good record too. I feel like her success in music had been greatly robbed.
