by - Hermit_C-1 on Sun Nov 2 2008 12:09:59 Yes he is dead but i have decided to replace him, there is always room for another Hermit on these boards.
You're doing a lousy job replacing him. You haven't done ONE birthday wish post since registering!!!

So odd that it's been so long ago I brought this post up about Hermit C-2.

It's been one year since Hermit_C-2 made his final post for IMDb, in this thread. May he be finding in the next world some of the pleasure he brought to us in this one with his posts. Oh, and Happy Birthday to Rod the Mod.

I always wondered what the deal was with this guy. I run into his posts from time to time. The weird thing is, they're usually in abandoned forums for no-name actors. I just stumbled upon Ellen Travolta and lo and behold, he had a birthday message for her. I never took time to research and see what the story was with him, but now that I know, it's kind of eerie stumbling across his random birthday messages from time to time. But I suppose eventually older messages will continue to be deleted and most of his will disappear from the boards, which is also sad.

Yes, it's really eerie and quite sad seeing his messages, but I consider it a tribute to his legacy that they are still there, at least for now. His account hasn't even been deleted; I assume that once that happens, all the posts will be gone too. I didn't realize until a few months ago that he had passed, when someone asked about him in the "I Need to Know" board.
I tend to gravitate to the more obscure names rather than the big stars, and for many of them Hermit_C-2 would have a birthday post. He clearly had a passion for entertainers of all stripes, and whatever else he was dealing with in his life, it appeared that wishing them a happy birthday was a major part of it. -

Go to any Asian pornstar's board on IMDB and you'll see a birthday wish from him.

I always wondered what happened to him, he seems so friendly, wishing nobody actors and actresses happy birthdays.
He only did that so that he could receive IMDb top contributor honors, nothing more.

I realize this post is more than 6 years old, but I just wanted to comment about this.
Why should there be a "deal" with this guy? I like wishing obscure actors a happy birthday too. I feel its sad that there are so many actors whose names most people will never know and I just like to wish those whose performances made me smile or laugh or cry or just feel happy. I know most of them will never read this, but I just feel like doing it. Not that I have anything against big-name actors either.
I only recently started wishing posting birthday messages on boards of obscure and well-known people and that's how I came across Hermit and only today learned he had died.
I don't know why people are giving him a hard time about posting birthday messages. I can't believe some of the silly posts I've read about the poor guy.
Anyway, 8 years later, R.I.P. Hermit. -

I had hermit in my friend-list and liked reading his posts. I remember hermit not liking Billy-Bob Thornton very much saying things about him on his messageboard.
RIP hermit you are still remembered and missed.
