Do people ever give you a hard time about your drug use?

Well, well, well. Look who decided to show his ignorant face again.
Where you been, Nippleripper?
Yes, marijuana, like ANYTHING (including posting ridiculous inflammatory crap on message boards so people will pay attention to you) can be psychologically addictive if you choose to abuse it in that respect.
Hey Hippie have you ever done any of the following?
-had a girlfriend? (guessing no on that)- gambled?
- masturbated? (how many dozen times a day?)
- watched television?
- eaten?
- cleaned your house? (probably no because you live with your mom)
- had sex? (no)
Any and all of these things can be abused to the point where they become psychological addictions used to escape the problems of everyday life. Addictions of this nature start with YOU and your own mental state. Don't blame the drug because of the person who chooses to abuse it. Some drugs are physically addictive like heroin, marijuana is not one of those.
I'm really looking forward to having some more rational discourse with you on the subject that you know absolutely nothing about besides what you learned in the DARE program. Welcome back, I'm going to enjoy destroying you.

Heh, shows how well informed you are. I live in Holland, where personal use of cannabis is considered legal. I've heard it mentioned that Dutch pot is the strongest there is, though I can't really verify that (but we tend to mix it with tobacco anyway). Although I'm not a big pot smoker, I like to have a smoke every once in a while (something like three or four times a year). I don't think I know more than two or three people from here who haven't smoked pot at least once, but having said that, it's the visiting foreigners who AREN'T allowed to smoke it in their own country who are really intent on lighting one up. People who are from here are usually non-habitual smokers, i.e. they may or may not smoke pot every so often, but definitely not daily (with one or two exceptions). I'd say it's probably not a great idea to smoke a few joints a day, since it tends to make people a little slow, but that's about all. By far the most addictive and dangerous thing about the pot that is smoked here is the tobacco that's usually mixed in with it.
I get the impression we actually have fewer potheads here than the U.S. does, and I think the reason is because it's legal here, and therefore less exciting. But yeah, the drug CAN be psychologically addictive, like anything at all can - but as mentioned, that has very little to do with the drug itself. Anything that makes you feel good is potentially addictive. And as far as I know, eating addictions are no more rare than addiction to pot. On the other hand, alcohol can be both mentally and physically addictive, making it a hard drug according to formal distinctions. Ever had a drink? -

Oh dude, you ever want a half-assed argument, talk to someone who's been brainwashed by their high school health classes about weed. Most people I know are cool with what I do, but there's a couple of asshats on campus who think I'm the spawn of Satan for what I do.
Looks like you forgot to take your anti-retard pills again. -

My family does but thats only because it's illegal. They don't care about me drinking or smoking regular cigarettes though. And most of my family are hypocrites anyways. They all admit to smoking when they were young and now they act like they are better because they don't anymore. I just smoke to relax. It calms me down way more then damn anxiety pills my doctor prescribes.

Heres a story for ya:
My buddies used to do just about everything down the pike a few years ago and I was the "square" that didnt smoke or anything. Now, all of a sudden since they have girlfriends and junk, they think they're above it all and turn up their nose at me when I'm around and blaze up even though they've done worse stuff(Meth, ice, shrooms, coke, etc.)and all I touch is the green. beep' hypocrites, EVERY. LAST. ONE. OF. THEM.

"First of all i have had sextual relations with MANY BEAUTIFUL WOMEN."
Imagining it doesn't count hippie. Also what's "sextual?" I'm more familiar with the word "sexual" so please let me in on this new word of yours.
And now for something completely different -

No joke though, Hippie Ripper, your an ignorant, hate driven fool spreading propaganda that has been disproven for years. I blow my smoke in your face good sir, in hopes it will straighten out your clearly warped mental state.

Man. That guy is FAR too serious about weed. For YEARS I railed against doing drugs of any kind (drinking, smoking cigs, smoking weed, ANYthing), until about my sophomore year of college, when my roommate asked me if I wanted to come drink with him and a few friends. Yeah. DRINK. If anything, I would consider alcohol a gateway drug, not weed.
After that, the next significant thing happened about a year and a half later (This past March) when my housemate (totally different person than above) asked me if I wanted to smoke a bowl with him. So I did. We watched Pi, and I didn't understand a damn thing about it, but I damn sure giggled my way through most of it.
First off, in no way is marijuana physically addictive. Physical addiction would be the nicotine in cigarettes, or getting the DTs from no long doing heroin, or the like. The crazy guy that's practically been spamming these boards makes mention of psychological addiction, but I'm even skeptical of THAT in cases of smoking a bit of puff.
The next thing that happened in my line of experimentation, and this is aimed at you, hero4hire, was shrooms. To be perfectly honest, that was the best time of my entire life. I spent a good four hours, with three of my best friends, laughing our asses off at whatever we saw or did. It was an absolute blast, and I would love to do it again sometime. My point, I suppose, is that to lump hallucinogenic mushrooms in the same category as meth and coke, I'd say is poor choice of grouping. Especially considering, like the weed you smoke, shrooms grow out of the ground just the same.
Anyway, just my two cents:
Crazy guy: Chill out and let people live their lives. Spamming boards that practically cater to people who smoke down isn't going to get anyone anywhere. Go ahead and volunteer at your local homeless shelter and tell me how many people come in there vomitting because they haven't smoked some bud that day. I promise you won't find any.
Also, in response to another post in another thread, mentioning that smoking pot ruins your life and all that garbage:
I'm a grad student in Berkeley, CA. I've maintained a 3.8 GPA thus far. I smoke usually about once a week, sometimes more.
hero4hire: It sucks that your friends dissed you like that after you started smoking down. But considering shrooms a hard drug (although they are hallucinogenic) in the same league as coke and meth just isn't good practice.
In response to the OP: I used to be the guy giving people hard times. Now I'm the guy having good times with those I used to be giving the hard times. Go figure.
