One of my favorite scenes in this movie is the one where a steerage passenger produces a block of ice, and he and hie mates began kicking it around.
Another passenger said, "If we're to play a proper game, we've got to play by the rules."
As they enjoyed themselves with the ice, a first-class couple watched from above.
The husband wanted to join the players, but his snobby wife replied, "But they're STEERAGE passengers!"
Great example of the British class system here.

Heh, it's been thirty years since I've seen the film. I'll have to have a loot at it again for that scene alone.

I remember the film well however I don't recall this "soccer" scene. I remember a scene almost identical to the one you describe where a game of football is played. Could that be the scene you're thinking of?

He's talking about the steerage passengers kicking around the chunks of ice on the deck that fell from the iceberg when the ship hit it. They were playing a "soccer game" with the ice.

              Um, I'm a "she", not a "he".

Don't be snarky. The OP was using the American term for what most of the rest of the world calls "football", as you no doubt know. Yes, to the Irish immigrants playing the game (and the British upper class passengers watching in detached bemusement), it would have been "football". A distinction without a difference.

                  That scene was pretty funny.

That was a fun little scene in the midst of things hitting the fan. I feel sorry for the husband, his wife seemed like a real killjoy.
