Maybe it was because I was sleep deprived, but the scene where Gramps is trying to cross the street was the most hilarious thing in this movie. My buddy and I were laughing for about a minute straight. Then, at parts where not much was happening, we'd say, "Meanwhile, Gramps is still trying to cross the street." Laughter ensued. If only Gramps had starred in a series of spin-off movies.

It's like the phrase "Meanwhile, Back at the ranch" my best friend and I are always using that for when a conversation or something goes dull or the wrong way. So, maybe I'll have to start using "Meanwhile, Gramps is still trying to cross the street" in a future conversation.
And we should work on some new "Gramps" movies, like:
Gramps crosses the street
Gramps crosses the street 2
Why did Gramps cross the street?

ok, how about:
Gramps Crosses The Street And Vs The Shadow Of The Lobster Invaders
-or-
Gramps Crosses The Street And Vs The Shadow Of The Crawdad Invaders
-or-
Gramps Crosses The Street And Vs The Shadow Of The Craw-GRAND-DAD Invaders
i just watched this a couple hours ago, and thought it really wasn't all that bad for it's genre..til i saw that stupid lobster..er, 'scuse meSHADOW of that stupid lobster.
But the car crash off the mountain road was pretty good.
Now i know why the nurse was driving the worst looking carit wasn't cuz Doc was cheap on the payroll, it was cuz her car was only gonna last a couple scenes.
Wonder what Warner Bros paid Tom Lockyear Graef (Tom Lockyear) for this movie, and if he was generous to the others involved, cuz they WERE involveda bunch.
Sad to see that someone graduating from UCLA with a film degree was only involved in two projects, this and "The Wizard Of Mars" (US video titles, "Alien Massacre" or "Horrors Of The Red Planet")
oh yeah, question:
in IMDb's Plot Summary it says:
Plot Summary: Horror movie about Maritans invading earth to grow their "Gargon Herd"
Did i miss something? Where in this movie did they ever say they were from Mars?
Oh, and "HORROR"????????..PUH-LEEZE!
ok, that's enough..

You know, the only reference to Mars in the whole movie comes when a parked motorist gets sloppy service from a gas pumper who's just been distracted by Derek. The motorist quickly dismisses the pumper's curiosity about where Derek is from: "[He] could be from Mars for all I care. Hurry up will ya?! I haven't got all day!"

I know! What was up with Gramps? He acted like a half wit during most of the movie.
I love how he basically begged Derek to move in with him even though Derek had no clothes, luggage, stuff or money. Practically put out a welcome mat to a stranger for full access to his granddaughter.
No two persons ever watch the same movie.
