Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — El Cid

just thinking about the climax, when the dead Ruy Diaz de Vivar rides out of Valencia, at the head of his army, smiling on his horse, the organ music in the soundtrack, the sun over his shoulder, and the narrator telling how El Cid stepped from history into legend.

I think a lot of the credit for that scene goes to Miklos Rozsa.

Me too. I just watched my DVD for the first time the other day. Rosza was definitely one of the greatest film composers of all time.

It is actually quite spectecular anyway for an epic movie to end with such a climax AND a melancholic note at that.
                Outstanding.

Me too. The first time I watched it was like an epiphany, eheh. Wich reminds me, the organ track isn't available on the OST, is it? Thanks a lot in advance.
