I can't say I agree. The original will always be the true masterpiece, but I thought the remake operated well in a modern setting with an equally insidious and treasonous plot.

This is "not a good movie"?! Well, I've seen it at least 50 times throughout the past 50+ years, and I'm watching it again on Encore. I was going to switch over to TCM to watch a movie I've never seen before, one I was looking forward to viewing.
But, I became so engrossed in this "not good" film and missed the switch-over time! I'm still watching, too! TCM just has to wait this time it seems.
Now, why would I forget that I wanted to see another movie, film buff that I am? How silly! After all, this is "not a good movie"~right?!

Lemme guess. OP is a male between age 22 to 30 and thinks Forrest Gump and Shawshank Redemption are classics. Also believes Citizen Kane is a snoozefest and doesn't understand the big deal about Taxi Driver.

Who do think was such a poor actor? Sinatra, Lansbury, Harvey? They were all absolutely outstanding.
Sinatra is good, Lansbury is more than OK, Harvey is pretty bad. There's quite a bit B level acting here. The movie as a whole has some interesting imagery but can get a bit cartoonish at times. -

Have you ever encountered a person who was already unlikable and then was turned into a robotic killer through brainwashing? Probably not. So what qualifies you to say Mr. Harvey's acting was so bad. I found his performance quite credible. Are you a paid actor?
