A search on AllMusic.Com provides no info on the origins of the song, but it was covered in a 35 second version by the Electric Eels in 1975 - It's definitely the same song! No author listed tho . . . .

This is wild - I had doubted there would be ANY comments for this film, and yet I too heard of it/watched it for the first time last night, and I can't get that song out of my head either!
This was whacked yet really cool film - it's as if the director got hired to do a cheapo sci-fi thriller and decided to sneak in an art film in the middle of it! -

When Shirley AF sings a few lines, as she is leading MC to the gang, was a great moment. Like something out of Kill Pussycat Kill.
I just watched the movie. After I deleted it, I remembered I wanted to watch that scene again. Oh well.
