I'm not going to argue. Most people consider both endings of the TV episode and the movie, twist endings.
I would tell you to take it up with Rod Serling, who wrote the Twilight Zone episode. He is also credited as one of the three writers on Planet of the apes.
Problem is, he's no longer among the living.
Must you nitpick about the silliest things?
