I was a very valuable asset to these people, cos I had something they considered the holy grail and no one could believe I had what most in their circle had been seeking most.
Gee, what was that, if you don't mind me asking?
I hope you weren't ****ing them, lol.

No…it was the real deal.
In those days, we used Usenet Newsgroups…I could never get on the web, cos it was so congested.
But I shared the "holy grail" and before I knew it, I was known all over Usenet - not just within my social circle.
The only way to describe it is like going viral overnight - I became quite famous..lol
And that's something I wasn't prepared for…it was very crazy.
I had something that was unreleased that I leaked and it was pretty big at the time.
Even though it eventually became available, I had a unique version of what I was the only source for.
I had the right connections in the day that I was able to obtain such things…I just didn't realize at the time how big of a deal it was until I proved I really had it.

I would tell you but I'd be doxxing myself…lol
It isn't as bad as it sounds…there were no legal issues involved.
I did get a cease and desist love letter one time from a museum, of all things, but that had nothing to do with the "holy grail"
I learned my lesson from that.
Anyway, those were the days before there were torrents, mp3s and other compressed formats, so it's safe to say it wasn't that type of thing you might be thinking it was.
I was on dialup back then, so uploading stuff was out of the question.
I did have to learn how to write html and read binary codes though…lol…what a headache that was! Things weren't as user friendly back then.
