Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — The Jeffersons

I'm confused about something from the episode where George claims to be a descendant of Thomas Jefferson.
Cal Robert, the ad executive, asks Louise to hear his idea for an ad campaign because women are a big part of the consumer market. Cal never asks Louise for her thoughts after revealing the plan to name George as Thomas Jefferson's great-great-great grandson. When Louise establishes her disgust with the ad campaign (calling it unethical and totally dishonest), Cal never really makes any attempt to justify the campaign to Louise.
Why does Cal ask for Louise to hear his idea and then seem so indifferent to what her opinion is? Is he at all concerned that other women may be as disgusted with the campaign as Louise is?

That's probably because he wasn't thinking clearly. He must not have fully recovered from the burnt cake that Edith threw in his face and being prosecuted for attempted rape

But those events with Edith happened AFTER the Jeffersons episode. Haha.
