The irony of that scene is that by swimming along the surface kicking at the water, they're liable to attract other sharks. Prolly not a great white, but a fast movin' tiger can sure make a mess of ya.
PS Also, it was proved on
Mythbusters
that even a fully charged scuba tank would
not
explode when struck by a bullet. It did, however, take off like a rocket.
