    Was the butler killed or drugged? As I understand there still had to be at least 2 non detectives - the butler and the cook (which was revealed as the host). So what happened to the butler?

        "the butler did it" is a mystery fiction trope/cliche.
        in the case of this movie, however,
        the butler did not do it the cook did it.
        that's the long and short of the craziest punchline i have ever witnessed!

          My take is that Yette was
          really the daughter, so in killing the butler and her father, she ends up with everything,
          and there are absolutely no witnesses.
