I'm an atheist and I celebrate Easter next week anyway. But it is sacrilegious. Unacceptable.

I just noticed the title says have a holy easter instead of happy. I'm afraid she might be going straight to hell!

And I still don't get the connection between rabbits and Easter. It sounds pagan.

                Yup.
Bunnies are a leftover from the pagan festival of Eostre, a great northern goddess whose symbol was a rabbit or hare.

There are fundamentalist Protestants who say the Easter Bunny is a demon.

The rabbit represents fertility as well, beginning of Spring, vernal equinox. I say celebrate the Vernal Equinox or Easter, but don't confuse the two.

There’s a strong correlation between the two, and hares are known to symbolize fertility or a gift of love within the Pagan religion. What they mean does vary by the region though.
