It's been a few years since I've seen this, but what he said was clearly something in Italian. Next time I see it, I'll see if I can get exactly what he says.

I kept rewinding it over and over today BC closed captioning on my TV didn't pick it up either. But what I got was something something "didn't just die". That's what I thought I heard. It didn't sound like Bobby was what preceded those last comments..but something else.

I just played this scene over several times on Netflix. I'm a professional linguist, and this is a pretty exact transcription of what Double J says:
[hndsndan]
What that means, I have no idea. The closest English match to it would be "hundreds in dawn" but I doubt that's what the line is. I'm very familiar with Italian also, and it does not sound like anything in that language to me either.
Looks like it might remain a mystery

sometimes there's on a dvd, it might show up on the main English subtitle.
If it's titled in English and someone speaks a foreign language, they don't usually put the foreign language. But there might be another subtitle on there that will include the foreign expression. sounds confusing but i've seen this before, and actually came across it entirely by accident, thinking one subtitle track was for a commentary and turned out to be this.
And if Pape said something in a foreign language, it might be on the dvd.

I'm watching this again. And I STILL believe it was him saying Bobby C's nickname (what was that???). And "didn't just die"
I don't care what IMDB says, "God gave his only son" does NOT make sense. Here's what I think.makes sense. But I will revise later after I watch again
These were young stupid reckless guys. They had done that thing earlier where they taunted Annette by pretending to kill their friend by throwing him off the bridge. They terrorized her for kicks and giggles. In the ignorance of youth, they probably had no idea in a million years that they were not ACTUALLY invincible. When you're 19, who thinks your recklessness can result in death? So, then when Bobby C actually falls to his death, the instant reaction is DENIAL. Or, "that did not just happen. It could NOT have just happened.". Basically, "no way, Bobby C
didn't just die
.". But, it's not Bobby C but that other term they used for him.
I mean, how does it make sense that teetering on a bridge hundreds of feet up, a 19 year old drunk kid formulates a "God gave his only son" comment. And someone said that translated into Italian sounds nothing like what he said.
I'm sticking with a blurted out DENIAL comment with. ".didn't just die."
Also, I'm wondering if anyone picked up on the "I did it" Bobby C comment and Travolta says, "what did you do?". I personally think he might have killed his girlfriend. I know that sounds bizarre but I sadly had a case very similar which resulted in a murder suicide out of the blue. I am wondering if anyone thought that might have been a writer cliffhanger subplot. I will start a new thread on that to discussHe's a zombie at the club and, what transpires at the hospital???
