Wow.
It's amazing to see how many people have an interest in this topic.
I think all of our wishes may be coming true
I've been seeing this clothing line for old Nick shows.
I've already bought a double dare, and rocko's modern life shirt
I think it was called Nick Rewind.
Check out the Nick Rewind Website.

Best (Retro) Nick shows:
You can't do that on television (just don't eat the burgers, rofl)
Salute your shorts
Turkey Television (short lived, but funny)
Hey Dude!
The adventures of Pete and Pete
Are you afraid of the Dark
The Roundhouse (from the "Snick" days!)
The Ren and Stimpy show (Man, the stuff they got away with! The new episodes are freakin' horrible, though!)
Doug
BEST SHOWS EVERRRR! -

All those shows you guys mention are great! But bringing up Nick Jr. Reminds me of a show I have been trying to track down for the longest time. Does anyone remember the animated series that was based on the charming french children's book "The Little Prince?" At this point I only have vague memories of it but I do remeber how I loved it so

I remember (and miss) most of those shows:
Salute Your Shorts
Hey Dude (filmed here in AZ)
But i remember when i 1st starting watching Nickelodeon, there was this one show that involved a few teenagers. They drove around in a VW bus. I think the premise of the show was that they solved mysteries. I remember one episode in which a woman's eyelids turned purple because she ate a sandwich not knowing a cat was munching on it before her.
Does this ring any bells for anyone? Please help me with this. -

Yeah, I definitely remember the show, I think she got some kind of hepatitis or something, but I cannot remember the name of it for the life of me. My husband and I were just complaining about how there are no good tv shows for kids anymore. Do you remember when Nick also had Looney Toons on for an hour or two in the afternoons? I would always watch Nick after school before my parents would come home and make me change it. I always loved the nights when my Mom would have to work late so I could watch Double Dare and Finders Keepers.

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. -

I've thought they should have Classic Nick network for quite some time now. Of course my cable network would probably force people to get some upgraded package to get it.
I've had a pain in the a$$ for the past 45 years! You got any chicken soup for that? -

acarmansmith, I think you might be referring to "Sharon, LOIS and Bram's Elephant Show". If I remember correctly, there were two women and one man who starred in it; although I didn't watch that show too often, so I'm not claiming to be the expert.
Anyway, it's been a great trip down memory lane for me. I haven't seen or even thought about the shows we talked about in a long, long time. I think it would be great to have a "Classic Nick" channel, showing not only old Nickelodeon shows, but maybe even some of the old Nick promos (and maybe even "Snick" promos, with Melissa Joan Hart and the orange couch) and even some of the "Sports Cartoon" shorts. I'm so glad that someone mentioned "Roundhouse", since that is still one of my favorite shows of all time.
I may have brought this up on another forum, but anyone can entertain kids with cheesy cartoons. Let's see someone try to keep kids' attention with sitcoms like "Clarissa Explains it All" or "Welcome Freshmen". Or let's see if they can entertain kids with sketch comedies like "You Can't Do That on Television" or "Roundhouse". I also challenge the folks running Nick today to see if they can come up with a decent children's game show, similar to the original "Double Dare" or "GUTS". Or let's see if someone can come up with an idea for something completely out of the ordinary and unlike anything we've seen before or since, like "Tomorrow People" or "Adventures of Pete and Pete".
