ANY WHICH WAY YOU CAN IS WAY BETTER THAN THE FIRST ONE.LIKE YOU SAID THE FIGHT ALONE MADE IT BETTER.ALSO THE COMEDY WAS FUNNIER IN THIS ONE AS WELL.

"Any Which Way You Can" was much better than the first. I carefully, frame-by-frame, saw both films and I came to that conclusion. The 2nd one was much more funnier, a lot of great quotes, and the final fight was great to watch. I bet this one was made to do the things that were probably written for the first one but couldn't do it because of the length so it was probably shelved for a sequel. The cast here was impressive, it added Harry Guardino, Michael Cavanaugh from Clint's little stable of actors.

Which Way is up is better, but the "Whiches' of Madison County was best.

I can't really say, because I don't remember either well enough. I think I did see the original on TV sometime in the early 1980s, but I know I saw this one in December, 1982 on a VHS tape it had been taped on from HBO. This was on our first VCR, which we got in November, 1982. We also got this tape, with this movie and Ode to Billy Joe and Oh Heavenly Dog on it (see my posting on its board), but just like those two movies this one will always have a very big distinction for me, the 25th anniversary of is this month.

I prefer "Every Which Way But Loose", though I like both very much. A big part of the first movie's appeal is that it did not have a typical hollywood happy ending.

I think they should have made a third movie to go with the first two,Clint would be a little old for it now though, but you could have him train some young guy for a big fight and bring back much of the same cast!

I loved watching them both! They were classics to watch. I remember watching them as a kid and would laugh hard throughout the movies.

Both movies are favourites of mine, but I'd have to give a slight edge to the first one. Beverly D'Angelo was in it, and like someone else said, a guy getting hit with a fish!

The 2nd one was way better than the first one.It was funnier, had a great cast and of course it had probably the best fist fight ever in a film. Also if you've ever noticed Any Which Way You Can gets way more airplay on tv than the first one which is hardly even played on tv.

I live in the UK and "Every which way but loose" is shown far more than "Any Which way you can". I personally prefer the first movie. The second movie wasn't bad but I felt it became a bit too silly and slapstick in parts, in particular the ending where all the people ran to see the fight. It all became a bit OTT. I preferred the more serious tone of the first film and it was quite nice to have an ending where everything wasn't resolved nicely and neatly. I was also not keen on the unbelievable character transformation of Lynn, between the first and the second she went from being a nasty, selfish and icy character to being a virtual saint in the second movie.

Well I liked that Lynn became normal. And the fight was so hyped up that's why everyone went crazy to see it.Plus they had money riding on it.Here in the USA the 2nd one is always on tv more.It just came out on Blu-Ray too.Cinemax actually showed it in HD this morning and it looked really good in high definition.

I think I'll say the 2nd one, the first one was funny, but as I remember it (haven't seen it in some time) it took itself a little bit too serious, and hell, "right turn, Clyde" is too awesome to exist x)
