I think she was a decent actor. I really do think she was quite good as an actress. She and Clint had a vibe about then on screen which always helped with any movie that they were in.
There is no doubting her prettiness as well. She was a very pretty woman indeed. I can see why Clint went for her!

Are you high or in prison?? Pretty?? She was as plain as they make them with a body like an 11 yr old school girl!! Clint really lowered himself hooking up with her and her milky white skin! She must have been awesome in bed for him to have been hypnotized by her for so long! Go Clint! I just noticed what Samanthajane13 posted! Amen sister skank fits this chick!! There are at least 20000 people in Hollywood better looking than this chick ever dreamed of being on her best day!

What do you expect? It still happens to this day in Hollywood now! You see it happening with actors to where they will somehow get married then within a certain amount of time they get divorced like within 5 to 10 years. It is the structure of using this person or that person to become famous.
Dedicated to USA UP ALL NIGHT and the fans of the show!

She was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for The Heart is a Lonely Hunter.a couple of years before she started making movies with Clint.
That nomination happened almost seven years before Locke started making movies with Eastwood, and her career had since devolved into one of episodic television appearances and roles in low-budget horror flicks. Eastwood basically picked Locke out of the Hollywood dustbin of one-hit wonders. -

Wow there are some Locke-haters on this board ..
Just don't include me!
I for one AM a fan. And first off, Clint DID NOT "make" her film career. She was already a said name by 1975, not only for scoring an Oscar nomination (The Heart is a Lonely Hunter -'68), but for several featured & notable TV & film roles & appearances before and after. She also dabbled a bit in modeling.
She met Clint in '75 when her agent sent her to screen for 'The Outlaw, Josey Wales'. It was Clint Eastwood, after all. How could she possibly turn down the role? Upon meeting him, he fell smitten with the petite blond and cast her, hands down. The rest, as fans already know, is history.
Things turned ugly, following Bronco Billy (1980). But she was already committed (contract) to finish at least 3 more films, so she 'bit the bullet'. He turned jerk, on the home-front.. When Sudden Impact wrapped, they'd been split for some time. In fact, he'd already been comfy with a new "leading lady". During and after this, his reputation with the studios black-balled her horribly. No one would work with her, nor hire her.
Locke sued him soon after, successfully, for trying to breach his promise of her directorial debut. He ended up financing at least 2 of her films; which included Ratboy - which bombed, of course.
She bowed out of sight; humiliated over their split and her rejection from Hollywood - which could have been handled more appropriately by Clint.

LOL I would have to agree with you. I always thought her acting was (and singing!) was lousy. Pretty face, though.
