NO, it was an attempted insult, not an observation.
My behavior was in telling a person who was listing sequels as remakes, to learn the difference. Something that is justified in stating.
I joined the Navy to see the world, only to discover the world is 2/3 water!

No way. The Navy can't afford to fly the Blue Angels, no way they are going to help like they did with this movie. It's all real air footage. And the Tomcat is retired. So many reasons not to remake this cult classic.

Hollywood CGIs everything these days. Wouldn't be anywhere near the same film. It would be Battleship.

Yes Die Hard is a sequel. Scrap that.
Yes tthey should remake this film itz a great film but the special effects need to be updated.

I'd like to see this film remade. They could use the F/A-18's that took on the Jolly Rogers tail markings.
Considering the CGI capabilities of today, it could look great; provided they stayed with the original storyline and just enhanced the look of it.
