Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — The Final Countdown

I own this movie on DVD and have watched it numerous times. There
are people asking for a full Hollywood remake and I say flat out
"no way!" The script was just perfection as it was written with
very solid acting by the main performers and crisp direction.
I also had enlisted in the US Navy the same year of The Final
Countdown's release and have always loved this film. And sadly
some of the main actors, James Farentino & Ron O'Neal have
passed away over time. Let's just enjoy this movie for how it
    was done.

Sorry, it needs to be remade and into something that doesn't resemble an ABC Movie of the Week.

I think it's great the way it is. My late parents loved this movie, my brother, my husband and I all love this movie. I say leave it alone.
