It's so hard to pick out just one funny line or scene. It's so over the top, without being offensive to anyone. His accent, the outfits, the beaver.
I still use, "Thank GOd for small favours!" when ever Some one at work or at a party and we have to squeeze by. I'll pat my butt or lower abdominal area and say that.
"I'm not an idiot manI watch T.V."

ITA! I first saw this movie when we had it on the original (CED) laserdiscs way back in the early to mid-80's. When the player died we got rid of everything, thus reducing the chance of seeing this film as PC-ism ran rampant. Then only a few months ago, very much to my delight and surprise, I found an unopened VHS copy at a thrift store. I snatched it up and bought it, before the PC Police could get it and burn it. I treasure my copy, as it may be one of the last copies in existence (okay, maybe that's a bit of a stretch). Anyway, I am a BIG fan of both this film and "Love At First Bite" and wish truly funny movies like them were still being made.

Same here. Those are two of my most favorite (is that a phrase?) comedies ever. I also like Seems Like Old Times. They were all made within 2-3 years of each other. I should check out some other comedies from the era. -

It has been I believe over 20 years since I have seen this movie and loved it as a kid! I laughed a lot watching this movie! I remember watching it on HBO back in the day. It was great in my honest opinion.
I remembered this movie watching The Game Show Network when they had the show on I Have A Secret and when they mentioned George Hamilton it clicked into my head about this movie.
A lot of good laughter and memories watching this movie.

I think Brenda Vacarro made this movie. Example:
"As the Alcalde's wife I must play many, many roles. Most people only see that parts I play in public. Only a few select friends get to see my private parts"
to help the helpless, defend the defenceless & to defeat the defeatless. Don Diego Vega -

It has been forever since I have seen this movie so I would have to see it to agree with you on that.

"Defeatless" works just fine, because there's no such word, and Diego stuttered it because he realized it's nonsense. If you follow his speech, each phrase is to right a wrong - helping the helpless and befriending the friendless. How would you "de-feet" someone if they're already footless? On the other hand, it is possible to defeat someone who's never been defeated before, although one can and should certainly come up with better phrasing if one wasn't ad-libbing on the spot.

I just found this movie today going through some old VHS tapes. We taped it off Showtime on our first vcr way back in'85. I popped it in and it was so funny and my daughter had never seen it and now it has a new fan.
