When I was a kid, I owned a golden retriever and when we'd play he'd bite my shoes because he knew that anywhere else would hurt. He was such a good dog.
Down the street, there was this german shepard that would bark every time I walked by it's fence. One time it got loose when I was riding my bike past and it chased me for blocks. I decided to take a detour and go into a heavily trafficked area in the hopes that a car would plow the stupid thing down. Unfortunately, the cars would stop and then the dog was scared and stopped chasing me. The owners got him back and promised to keep him chained up so we wouldn't file a complaint.

Wow, so your dad decided it was the dog that was the problem? Why not shoot the owner and take the dog and train it properly. Unless the dog was completely insane, it's the owners fault and not the dogs.
What interests me is 1) Your dad was able to pick up the poor dog and throw him into the passenger seat of the car without any kind of fight (sounds like the dog was not much of a threat and small enough to pick up, chuck onto the truck seat and then throw out the window of a truck moving at 70mph 2) The dude actually bothered to look for his dog 3) Your dad shot the dog 3 times on a public road and then left the dog to rot?
I hope this was all just make believe, but I do sincerely hope your dad had/has an incredibly horrible terrible painful death

When I was very young, I was petting a friendly pooch that suddenly lunged at my ear giving it a permanent scar (I might actually be missing a piece!)
(guess it was Mike Tyson's dog (bad joke drum noise))

I remember when I was little kid, I was walking outside for some reason. It was a somewhat overcast day. I thought my brother was next door at his friends house so i walked next door and then noticed 2 black dogs sorta coming towards me down the street. I quickly went up to the persons porch, and rang the doorbell. I looked back and the dogs were coming up the stairs towards me. I got Soooo scared I grabbed the screen door on the front door and just stood between that and the front door (no one would answer the front door). As soon as I did this the dogs just stopped and looked at me, then they just turned away and left.
It was pretty scary at the time, I think I would still be scared if that happened.

When I was 6, my parents were talking to our new neighbor, and the neighbor had a big dog. He asked if I'd like to take it for a walk. I said sure. I wrapped the hoop of the leash around my arm. The dog saw a deer and took off. I was pulled at full speed across the concrete road and into a feild of cactus, before the leash came off my arm.
Not really an attack, but scared the pants off me.
I am in need of a signature 😕

When I was 7, I was at someone's house and I was petting their dog. I didn't even notice that it was baring it's teeth at me, so I kept petting it until it got pissed off and bit me in the arm.

When I was 4, our neighbors had a dog - a big, black, aggressive mongrel. I was always afraid of him. His name was Czarek. One evening when the neighbors were working in their field, talking with my family, their dog started to chase me. I don't know now how it was possible I was able to run away from Czarek - I was only 4 in that time and I couldn't run too fast. I still remember this. Luckily I didn't have even one bite on me.

I was playfully attacked by a german shepherd when I was little. I was about 4 or 5 years old and was playing in the yard when I saw the GS further down the road. It saw me too and came running at me, probably thinking it found a new playmate, and it was barking and wagging it's tail. When it came up to me it started jumping up on me and as I was 4 or 5 years old I was a lot shorter than the fully grown GS on it's backlegs. I was scared and screamed and cried and I tried to run away and hide but the GS just followed me and seemed to think we played catch or something. My mom eventually heard me screaming and came out and scared the dog away.
Looking back on that now, I really think the dog just wanted to play with me. This german shepherd might have been a bit sadistic - I was screaming and crying and GS is not a dumb dog so it must have understood that I was scared - but it never bit me or anything like that. I was scared of big dogs for YEARS after that but when I was in my late teens, 18 years or so, I noticed that I wasn't scared by big dogs anymore. Especially german shepherds used to scare me, just seeing them was enough, but not anymore. I'm 27 now and my guesses are that I probably stopped being scared of dogs when I grew and became bigger than them. Most of them anyway I'm not at all afraid of dogs now, fact is that I would very much like to have a dog and I would absolutely love to have a german shepherd! They have such expressive eyes!
"Are you Always Mega Hot or are you just happy to see me?"
