and we all know the only reason why its maligned is bc it was a departure for the halloween films, no michael myers, completely different storyline than parts 1 and 2. big deal, this is not a bad thing.
it's not a wrong thing to make a separate halloween movie than the other halloween films as a matter of fact this film shouldn't be connected, lumped in with any of the other halloween films bc there is no connection in story or characters or anything with any of the other halloween films.
the makers of this film, were they trying to tacitly, ostensibly connect this film with the other 2 just to make more money?

I second that emotion!
As for his post, for once, I agree with him on something. This movie is "underrated, unfairly maligned".
I save it for Halloween night most years, but since Halloween is on Moday this year, I believe I'll watch it this weekend for fun.
