X3 I'm 25 and I love it. One of my favorites of all time. I can still sit back and watch in awe thinking poor David, how is he ever going to get back? 😉

I'm 29 and adore this film. I always thought it was too short but it's a lot of fun and I guess kids films always have to be short.

If you didn't see it as a kid, then i guess it wouldn't holdany appeal to you if you're above the age of 12 currently.
Loved this movie as a kid, and still love it now. Alhough i wouldn't rate it in my top 20or maybe even 50 anymore.
Nice little movie that brings back some memories of when i was a kid!

This is one of my favs. I grew up on this movie!
Giles: Don't taunt the Fear Deamon
Xander: Why can he hurt me?
              Giles: No, it's just tacky.

I'm watching it on the Hallmark channel right now. I had totally forgotten about this movie and was thrilled when I came across it while changing the channels.

well i'm 27.since we're all stating our age for some.reason. And this movie used to be my favorite movie as a kid. I wouldn't put it in my top ten favorites of all time, but its def a fav of all time. glad i went looking for it and bought it.
People who didn't see it as a kid might not appreciate it. hell any kid to see it today might think wow, what crappy FX, but man this stuff was the beep when i was a kid.

I'm only 17 and I remember watching this movie when I was a really small girl. It was fantastic, my mum and I would both be enthralled by every second of it. But I agree that if anyone over the age of 12 were to view it in modern day it wouldn't hold the same appeal.

I wouldn't go quite as far as "bestmovieever!", as there have been many-a-movies made since that would definately surpass this in terms of storyline, acting, and overall quality
However, I think the people who would appreciate this film most were those whom were around in the 80's especially 80's kids (myself included). When the film came out, I was around the kid's age, so I could somewhat relate to the film.
Being thrown into the modern year 1986 from 1978 which seemed a distance off even back then, really put the film in a certain time-period trying to seem 'new' with pop-culture refrences to what's "new" or "modern" in 1986 including music videos, Twisted Sister, toys like Transformers, and other stuff that now-a-days seem extremely dated.
Those of us who watched the movie back in the 80's when it was first released can understand it, and even more-so now vs those who are watching it for the first time from a later generation who really have knowledge of these fossil and ancient pop-culture refrences really can't appreciate the film quite as much (or at the very least on the same level).
I really enjoyed it, and never knew Paul Rebeuns was the voice of Max I was always wondering why, after he scanned David's brain, that he was doing these Pee-Wee Herman-imitation laughs but in fact weren't imitations!

I've been a fan of Flight of the Navigator since 1988. Our teacher showed us a VHS copy and treated us to punch and cookies. I like the way the film mixes live puppets with early generation CGI. Alan Silvestri's energetic music score was superb, too. The kids in my class liked the scenes with the dogs trying to catch Frisbees. Best E.T. rip off ever!
I have a bare-bones DVD copy of FOTN. I hope they release a 2 disc special edition on DVD or Bluray(like they did with Tron).

I have fond memories of this film. It's one of my favorite movies from my childhood. I think the morphing effects for the ship were superb and a precursor for T1000 and that thing from the Abyss maybe. I dunno
