Lost Boys was a lousy take on the vampire myth, but to be fair, vampires can eat normal human food (even greasy Chinese American garbage), and they might do so for a variety of reasons e.g., in order to appear "normal". They just don't get any nutritional value from such food. Blood is the only food that vampires need to sustain themselves.

If they eat normal food , wouldn't they have to take dumps.

Maybe they poop when they turn into bats.

There's a part in the Dracula novel where the good guys find him in his coffin after he's been out gorging himself on blood, and Dracula is all swelled up like a tick…Similar to you or I after a trip to Mickey D's

            You read the original book?

Was it a one time read only.

I would read it again, or maybe listen to an audio version. It's better than any of the movies.

I read the paperback. I'd imagine there are lots of audio versions. I'd probably look for a theatrical reading, where they have a different voice for each character.

I'd pick whichever sounded the best. There are some terrible audiobooks, especially with AI where nobody even listens to do quality control.
