"Which proves it's not a very memorable scene."
Not necessarily. I've never liked the GF series. I've tried to sit through it, but I've always gotten bored. Shrugs
"Totally. Some women are just plain fickle. Believe me, I've met a few in my day"
I'm not really sure if they wrote her "fickle" or if they wrote her to just be bitter and angry. Maybe the writers thought that was the way that a successful female attorney would behave. I don't know. At any rate, it distracted me from the men's relationship with the baby. The men's relationship with the baby was supposed to be the focus of the film, so that distraction was a bad thing.
"It seems that in both 3 Men movies, we don't see much about Michael's dating life, nor did he seem like a plot centered around him. 3 Men and a Baby, the second half anyway, saw Jack as the central character, while in the first half it was Peter and Michael both as central characters; in 3 Men and a Little Lady, it was mostly the three men in the first half, but once they got to England, Peter became the central character in the plot. So Michael didn't carry a plot himself. If they made a third 3 Men movie, something along the lines of 3 Men and A Frat Girl, perhaps a plot or subplot can revolve around Michael Kellam. Who knows? I mean at least it would give Steve Guttenberg something to do, he hasn't done much of anything since the mid 1990s."
Or what about 3 Men and a Wedding? Just a thought. Anyway, I'd completely do over 3 Men and a Little Lady. There was just so much wrong with that film, I wouldn't even know where to start to make it work. I redo is the only practical thing I can think of to fix it. I definitely feel that Michael Kellam needed a larger role. I hardly learned anything about him in the film.
"What else would you cut/change?"
For one thing: I'D GET RID OF THAT STUPID CARDBOARD CUT OUT!!!! -

I guess it was just a transition phase, going from the men's carefree dating bachelor days to their new days of fatherhood.

The only thing I didn't like about it was how b*tchy Sylvia was.

Exactly.

That would save ALOT of controversy. -

I guess. I just felt that it was awkwardly written. Then again life can be pretty awkward.
"The only thing I didn't like about it was how b*tchy Sylvia was."
Sylvia's behavior was the least of it. Her accent was terrible, the scenes w/ the headmistress were so ridiculous that they leaned on the side of being farsical, Sylvia's boyfriend's acting was absurd. . . . Blech. Just blech.
"That would save ALOT of controversy. "
Then again, how could the filmmakers have known when filming 3 Men that the cut out would cause such a hullaballoo? -

Nancy Travis is a New Yorker.
Also, did you notice the little tribute to Jim Henson in the scene where the guys turn on music and it happens to be "Rubber Duckie" from Sesame Street? Now I don't know whether or not that was meant as a tribute to Jim Henson, who passed away the same year the movie was released, but if it were meant as a tribute, it was very proper and thoughtful.
"Then again, how could the filmmakers have known when filming 3 Men that the cut out would cause such a hullaballoo?"
I guess people who couldn't understand the main plot of the movie were looking for other things about it to discuss. -

LOL! Well, I definitely knew she was American.

????In what scene? What were they doing? I'm hard of hearing, so it's difficult for me to pick up background noise in quieter films.

I'm not so sure that it was an issue of not understanding the movie, perse. I think the public's willingness to search for a spectre in the film is evidence that the movie didn't draw people in as well as it should have. People were distracted from the plot. To be honest, I'm not sure how to redirect the viewer's attention to the men's interaction with the baby. The plot was substantial enough for me. Then again, I love babies and clueless men.

It's a scene after Sylvia has packed up Mary and moved to England. Peter, Michael and Jack decide to throw a party to try and get back in touch with their old ways. At one point they try to put on some music and the stereo begins playing a tape they already had in it: Ernie from Sesame Street singing "Rubber Duckie."

Exactly, like the out-spoken soccer mom who discovered the phallus on The Little Mermaid video box cover. -

!!!!!!!! I don't think I have that scene on my DVD!

Or the genius that found the word "sex" in the Lion King movie. Ugh. Why can't these people just stay in the woodwork they crawled out from? -

I have the VHS and it's there. I don't imagine they would cut it out of the DVD transfer. Check again.

It's actually SFX, though why in God's name did the SFX team have rising dust spell 'SFX'? Didn't they know somebody would make something controversial out of that?
"Why can't these people just stay in the woodwork they crawled out from?"
They crave the attention. They live on it. They thrive on it. Same with the media and those tabloid publishers. They THRIVE on gossip, especially the explicit kind. -

THEY DID CUT IT FROM THE DVD!!!!! Why would they DO that?! Not only does this DVD not contain that scene, it didn't even have any special features! GRRRRR!
"It's actually SFX, though why did the SFX team have rising dust spell 'SFX'? Didn't they know somebody would make something controversial out of that?"
I don't know. I'm not sure that I would have thought of it, either had I been on the SFX team. I don't blame them. Their target audience (children my son and daughter's age,) would never have caught it. I think only preteens, teens, and young adults who are too old for that kind of thing would get so bored with the show that they would look for stuff like that.
"They crave the attention. They live on it. They thrive on it. Same with the media and those tabloid publishers. They THRIVE on gossip, especially the explicit kind."
Huh. I'm absolutely STARVED for attention. I can't remember the last time my husband actually carved out time to spend with me or when one of my friends stopped over just to hang out with me. I desperately need to be noticed by someone. Somewhere. Sometime. But I'm not into rumors, innuendo or gossip. I've got so much more that I would like to talk about. -

That's very odd. This scene comes right after the scene where Mary is chastised by Edward for holding her glass wrong. -

"Oy! I got confused. I don't know much about Little Lady. I only saw it twice. :("
It's a pretty good movie. It's inferior to 3 Men and a Baby of course, but it's good if you want to see Mary a little older and you want to see more antics of Peter, Michael and Jack. -

A sequel is usually inferior to the original, because the original is just that: original.
But anyway, back to the Baby.
It was amazing how they got the baby to lay still when they were trying to change her. Normally they kick and scream. -

You're right. Maybe I should cut Little Lady some slack.

Oh. You mean like my 11 month old does every time we change her diaper?
Seriously, that scene had to have had a lot of takes. Either that or those are a pair of really affable babies. -

Some parts are pretty dull, but for the most part it's a pretty good sequel. Like I said it's great if you want to see Mary a little older and see further antics of Peter, Michael and Jack.
"Oh. You mean like my 11 month old does every time we change her diaper?"
I wouldn't know since I don't know your 11 month old.
"Seriously, that scene had to have had a lot of takes. Either that or those are a pair of really affable babies."
That or she was very sleepy when they did that scene. You'll notice in a few close-ups she doesn't even blink.
And those "ultra absorbent" diapers? Did he buy adult diapers by mistake?? LOL -

"That or she was very sleepy when they did that scene. You'll notice in a few close-ups she doesn't even blink."
It depends on what kind of sleepy they are. If they are just a teensy bit sleepy, it's WORSE. If it's regular sleepy, it's better. If it's over-tired sleepy, it's A LOT WORSE!
"And those "ultra absorbent" diapers? Did he buy adult diapers by mistake?? LOL"
LOL! I was thinking the same thing! But the best part was when the diaper fell off the baby and she peed all over the couch! Tom Selleck's portrayal of that kind of frustration was right on the money! The first day I brought home my son from the hospital, he peed EVERYWHERE when my Mom took off his diaper! And since my daughter was born, I can't count the times when my husband or I have gone to change a diaper and before we could get on the new one, she wet everywhere! -

Then perhaps it was regular sleepy.

Wow. Who'd have thought tiny bladders could fill so fast and hold so much.
"But the best part was when the diaper fell off the baby and she peed all over the couch!"
Apparently the couch was Michael's, because he had to clean it up.
