What ever became of Youk?

Bart was already famous when this movie was made and had a string of movies in his career before his death. Youk is only noted as being in this film. They were obviously training him. Does anyone know why Youk didn't have a career in movies like his proteg?

The names of the bears are also mixed up in some places;
Bart was 'Kaar', a Kodiak Bear and
Douce was 'Youk', the bear cub.
Still I believe Bart and Youk are the correct ones.
Nevertheless
RIP Bart. I also would like to know what ever happened to Douce/Youk.
That little cub is propably about 22-24 years old now (in 2009). Still alive?
Bears live about 23 years as Bart did exactly. -

I've wondered that, too.
Maybe they decided they didn't need to train a bunch of bears to be in movies. shrug
And lol @ the above comment.
They would certainly have to use different cubs throughout the movie, because the bear cub gets bigger and bigger in no time at all. ^^ -

It's sad what happened to Youk.
It's what happens to most young bears. He grew up! Youk lost all his teddy bear looks. He just couldn't make the switch to adult film.
Then he got into coke real bad.
The last I heard he was living in a van down by the river.
