That's not what I heard.. The story I was told is that he grew to almost 6'4 and played forward for the Taipei national basketball team.

Perhaps in the next film, we'll see Indy looking him up in order to obtain an important artefact.
Short Round: "I learned to hate you in the last 30 years!"
Indiana Jones: "I never meant to hurt you."
Short Round: "I was a child, I was in love. It was wrong and you knew it!"
Indiana Jones: "You knew what you were doing."

Decades after the events of TOD he discovered this little creature called a Mogwai, which he then took back with him to the big city where he opened up an antique shop (some of the artifacts he sold came from Short Round's adventures with Indy) that is operated by him and his grandson.

There was another adventure (never filmed) where Short Round and Indy were going through the jungle and Short Round kept screaming/yelling DR. JONES LOOK! and got shot by an arrow.
