Reach for the steam,
reach for the whistle
Go where the railway runs
Reach for the words,
reach for the story
Follow the rainbow sun
To a shining time station
Where dreams can come true
Waiting there for you
So much to see, so far to travel,
So much to learn, to know
Friends by your side,
hopes to hold onto
Who knows how far you'll go
To a shining time station
Where dreams can come true
Your own imagination
Waiting there for you -

I loved that theme song, too. Just yesterday I listened to the soundamerica clip and picked it out on the piano. I've been playing that awesome intro every time I pass the piano. The theme sounds a bit somber instrumentally with those minor chords and whatnot, but then the chorus gets more cheerful.
What's my one complaint regarding the theme song? Too short. -

Yep love the both opening and end theme songs for the show, and yes I do realize it has been almost 10 years later after this post. And I agree with newgeorgiarr it is a shame since it is still a great show. But you can still find episodes on Youtube, not sure if it has ever been released on dvd, and I am not sure about a lot of kids show make it to dvd, but you can always check http://www.amazon.com , or even http://www.tvshowsondvd.com to see if it is possible on a release on this show on dvd. And PBS are the only non cable station that airs Children's shows, and even say another Non cable station that wants to air this show, and still air commericals they would have to edit the show done a bit to show commericals in a half hour since the show's running time is 28 minutes, and that would really be a shame.
