Given that I was a teen, younger than Juliette actually, back in 1991 when I first watched this movie and fell head over heels in lust for her, would that classify me as a creep or not?
This is not my signature. This is IMDb's automatic translation of my signature. -

Age of consent in my country is 16, what's the big deal about one year? What is it in your country?
Julia may have been playing a younger character here, but she was actually almost 18 when she filmed these scenes. Let's be honest though, she was hot years before this movie ever came out.

In the U.S. consent is 18. Now, when I was 18 so long ago, I had sex with a 17 yo. Does that make me a creep?
The age of consent in the USA is NOT 18. It's only 18 in a few states. It's 17 in some. 16 in most. -

This is such a stupid thing to worry about. Most people have had sex with someone slightly under 18, usually when THEY were under 18 or just a little bit older. It's probably not an unpleasant memory for them either. So what are you going to do throw them all in jail?
Even setting aside the fact that this was 23 years ago and the actress is actually older than a lot of the "pedos" lusting after her, statutory rape (sex with a girl between 14 and 18) is kind of like robbing a bank. It's illegal and I'm obviously not going to DO it, but I'm not going to disingenuously claim I have no interest in money or feel bad that I might FANTASIZE about it occasionally.
Why don't all guys just ADMIT that they're attracted to physically mature females whether they're over 18 or not, and then CHOOSE not to pursue it. I think if you constantly go after everyone else on this issue, you must inevitably be persecuting YOURSELF for your own natural feelings. -

@lasarillo
I know this was almost two years ago but I have to saythis is one of the most intelligent, insightful posts I have ever read on IMDB. We, as humans, have the right to chooseto NOT do something that is wrong. However, to say it is right or wrong to see something, or view something in a certain way, makes no sense. You make a very good pointthere is a HUGE difference between someone that goes out and robs a bank and someone who thinks about how awesome it would be to do that, but because they are a GOOD PERSON they know they wouldn't ever do something like that. The same concept can be applied to this. There is a difference between someone that has sex with a 14 year old and someone who looks at a 14 year old and thinks he/she is hot. Just because I would love to steal all the money from a bank has absolutely no bearing on whether I would actually do it or not. Why? Because I have MORALS. Thinking about how much I would love to rob it doesn't make me an immoral person. I don't think the OP realizes how many "creeps" there are out there that would never do anything to hurt anyone because they are good people. Family members, work mates, bosses, classmates, teachers, having immoral fantasies are much more common than he/she thinks. Murder, rape, thievery, etcpeople fantasize about it all the time. How many of these people would actually do it? .000001% -

Despite your angerous feelings, many post stuff on here just to yank your chain.
So lighten up - she was 18 when this was filmed so she was the 'age of consent'
and I like high school girls while I get older, they stay the same. -

the age of consent law is a joke. women are sexually active and ready before they are 18 or 16 years old. all you have to do to find out that lusting after her in this movie at 17 is appropriate and that 15 should be the age of consent everywhere in America is remember that brad pitt dated her when she was 17 years old and he was 28, so there you go, brad didn't have a problem with it, so no one should.
also consider the fact that Romania's age of consent is 14 proves that 18 or 16 is not the age of consent and shouldn't be the age of consent anywhere. -
