Why make Terri so cheesy?

I kind of liked it.
Usually in horror films that have millions of sequels, the first one or two are genuine attempts at horror. Eventually though, people are just coming to see the villain, so they end up making the films more whacky and they end up becoming attempts at humour.
It works better in some franchises than in others, but I think Doug Bradley (a bit like Robert Englund as Freddy) has such a charisma about him that he can pull off the scray aspect of the films, but even the silly ones can be fun. I was laughing my head off when that DJ guy turned up and start lobbing CDs everywhere. -

At first I thought she would've been better without the cigarette in her throat as well. If she didn't have it I would've confused her for the female cenobite from the first two films since they look almost exactly alike so now I don't mind it too much. I did think the cameraman and CD throwing cenobites were kind of cheesy, though. They made me miss Butterball, the Chatterer, and the Female Cenobite from the first two.
