I have to agree with leaps and bounds. The only thing that might have been comparable would be some of the acting, but even for the good parts in 3:10, Tombstone is still superior.

I finally watched Tombstone and as much as I like the remake of 3:10 to Yuma (still haven't seen the original) I think Tombstone is the better film and I do not think it's as close as IMDB score indicates. Thanks to an incredible cast, and what should have been an Oscar nominated performance by Val Kilmer (I would have given him the statue over Tommy Lee Jones), Tombstone is one of the best westerns I've seen. Both are beautifully shot films with some of the most breathtaking scenery.
I would give 3:10 to Yuma 8/10, Tombstone 10/10.
