seeing ratings like that remind me that sometimes IMDB users are way way way off base.
movie is hilarious, as funny as the original IMO, sure it's a slapsticky comedy but it's also F*$CKING HILARIOUS.
this should have at least an 8.0 rating -

I came on and was just about to write the same thing. I couldn't believe it, there are a ton of much, much less funny films than this that have ratings in the 6.0's.
They both should be in the 7's. I've never met anyone that didn't like them.

I agree it should be higher than 5.8, but THAT is what you find shocking? I'm more shocked that the first Wayne's World is only 6.9!!! That's a disgrace. The first is absolute class, f-cking hilarious. The 2nd isn't as good, still hilarious though!
If you're gonna spew spew into this.

Totally agree. I saw it again this morning and there are so many laughs in it. (And Walken was great in it too, I thought.) Hell I think it blows 'The Hangover' and other modern comedy movie crap out of the water, but I guess that's just me.
I don't get the 5.9. Ridiculous. More toward the 7.5 or 8 end in my opinion. -

I was also shocked by the 5.8 rating. It was always my perception most people thought the 1st one was better, but still liked the 2nd one. Personally, I think this is one of the rare comedy sequels which equals the original. Off the top of my head, the only other three comedy sequels which equal the original in my opinion are Austin Powers 2, Clerks 2, and Christmas Vacation.

Noticed this just now, re-watched it recently, seriously tough critics. Deserves something in the 7 region, or 8 if you are a fan. I'd rate it 8.3

Breakin' 2, Electric Boogaloo, also does not get the love it deserves.

I just came on here to add a quick comment. I hadn't seen either of the 2 movies for quite a while and after seeing a clip from Waynes World 2 of the Kenny G and dentist scene on YouTube I decided to watch the first movie again and loved every second of it. I felt it had aged well and the talk-to-the-camera routine was still very funny and appealing. Even the Laverne & Shirley Parody was still funny, and that show was derived 2 decades before Wayne's World came out. It's a fantastic classic comedy film that deserves a much higher rating, as does the sequel.
I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting Wayne's World and I am now going to watch Waynes World 2. Excellent!
5.8?! Ch'yea! As if! Party on film lovers! -

I agree as well.
I was very surprised!
I found both very fanny, but the second one i laugh my heart out with the scene with Garth & Kim Basinger.
I found the rating weird because personally me, I don't usually like those type of movies with the college kids who makes those stupid jokes about girls & sex, & all that stuff & you see everywhere boobs coming out, lol, & i am a feminist, I am very "serious" with stuff like that, but when I see a comedy to lighten up a little bit with good & silly jokes, I accept it & I go along with the mood
I think it a great comedy that deserved more than a 7.5 -

i think this is just as funny as the original. but to be fair, i think neither one was that funny. they both had a few really funny bits but the rest of the films were mostly dull. i think the novelty of watching a movie about Wayne's World wore off on audiences after the first one. but that's just a guess. my only complaint i have for this one over the first one is they recycle some of the same gags, but all in all i thought they were about equal.
