there really is some kind of motion going on there, but not exactly harcore sex. Demi Moore kisses him passionately, straddles him a bit, then goes down on him. I didn't exactly think that Douglas played a good Sanders, because he seemed like he was enjoying it more than resisting it. That scene, though very sexy, many can agree is very awkward. here's a happy man, sworn to marrage with a wife and he has two kids, then the next thing you know, he and his boss are close to having steamy sex in the office. then he comes home to his wife and tries to think everything's okay, when he gets into bed with his wife. But to think that less than a few hours ago, he was commiting adultrey.
Anyways, I'm getting off track. Much like that person said above, which he made it pretty clear, was that sex can be put into all different forms, whether it be oral, anal or casual. Meredith did get pretty close (if you know what i mean) to sanders in the seduction.

Adultrey? You idiot, did you watch that film at all? He was coerced into cooperating. He TOLD her no and that he was married and she pressed him.
And why would'nt he TRY to think everything is ok? He wanted to try to FORGET about it. That's usually what people do who experience things like that.
And when he got into bed with his wife it was pretty clear he was feeling some intense emotions not behaving like it didn't happen. She noticed he was tense as soon as he got in.
He wasn't committing adultrey you fool. Read the book, maybe that will help you understand what was going on in that film if two hours of it isn't enough for you to digest the politics that were going on in that room.
AdultryI can't believe you watched that film and "adultrey" is all you got from it.

What`s the point in insulting people on an internet movie discussion board anyways?

That's good JackI would say though in response to the pissed off guy, the adultry call was bs. It was "adultrey" averted.

They didn't have intercourse. She went down on him early (that's pretty obvious) and he fingered her after he ripped her underwear off. That's what caised the moaning. But a few seconds before he gets off of her, you can hear her say "put it in."
In the book, she said no no wait. she moaned "no." She didn't mean for him to stop, she just moaned it because he was delaying. Tom used that "no" as an excuse to stop, but she was furious when he stopped.

It's quite worrying that you original poster thought that any kind of penetration was involved at the point considering that his 'ahem' was no-where near her, just his hands were!

He ripped off her panties and then fingered her. Then she says to him to put it in. He realises he shouldn't be there and stops before anything happens.

He did commit adultry, actually. If this were not the case then every married man would be going around kissing and getting head left and right with no recourse. Tom made out with her and then got head from her. He stopped short of intercourse but in the legal sense of the word he did commit adultry. More so in the Biblical sense. It only became coersion when Merideth filed sexual harassment charges and forced Tom to do the same.

If Tom went to Meredith's office intending to screw her, he would have committed adultery. If he had jumped her when she took off her jacket, it would have been adultery. If he had gone along when she kissed him, it would have been adultery. If he had pushed her down on her knees, it would have been adultery. He didn't do any of those things. When she took off her jacket, he told her things were different now with them. When she kissed him, he pulled away and said no. He said no a total of 31 (I think) times. He did not prevent meredith from going down on him, but he tried, and he couldn't really be too hostile, since she was his boss. Finally, finally, he gave in to the obvious temptation.
Did he fool around with another woman? Yes- it was technically adultery. But I can hardly think of a more difficult situation to be in- and Tom still walked out in the end.

The phrase they use in this movie is sexual harassment, when arguably it should be sexual assault because that's effectively what Meredith does to Tom. By forcibly kissing and fondling him she is assaulting him. The difference between a woman doing that to a man and a man doing that to a woman is that it is not considered acceptable under any circumstances to hit or otherwise attack a woman which is the only thing stopping Tom from hitting or kicking Meredith to get her away from him. In spite of him later saying to Phil Blackburn that "the woman is probably on a stairmaster an hour a day, she could kick the s**t out of both of us", Tom is not prepared to physically attack Meredith to get her away from him because that wouldn't be acceptable.
"He murders his wife every night. Other than that, I think he's pretty harmless."

I disagree, if a guy is in danger, like he was, i see nothing wrong with him using appropriate force to get out of that situation, and if that included striking her then yes. Of course it would be better if he can get safe without strikign her, but if its necessary then so be it. I don't think anybody should expect a man to not hit a women if he is in danger from her.

Thanks to our patriarchal society forms of harassment are something women worldwide have to endure at the working place I also don't think Sanders had sex with Meredith, but it would have come to that if Sanders wouldn't have barked that psycho down - Meredith does something men worldwide with positions in the job world do

i know u could have just looked above this post to see the quote but i felt that it had to be repeated due to its blatant sexism.
you are a sexist pig, pure and simple
                              you do not want equality
you are prejudice against all members of the opposite sex
and you think you are superior to the opposite sex
all of those characteristics are widely assosiated with sexists, of which you are one.
i felt i had to post this because nobody else had replied to her and stated the obvious.

Wow, you're quick to judge. The way I see it, that poster merely stated fact.
                                -"our patriarchal society"
Yes, we do have a patriarchal society. That's a fact by mere statisticslook it up. Men hold the most positions of power, men earn more in the SAME positions than women do.
-"something women worldwide have to endure at the working place"
Also a fact. You can't deny this, it happens all the time. That's why this movie is so interestingbecause harrassment going the other way happens so seldom.
-"if Sanders wouldn't have barked that psycho down"
Meredith is a psycho. Obviously this poster doesn't think ALL women are superior.
I don't seem to recall anywhere in that post that claimed women are superior or should be, nor did she anywhere say that she personally was superior to men. Did you notice that she supported Sanders and not Meredith? A rabid man-hating woman-rule-the-world kind of person would have been impressed with what Meredith pulled. Isn't that kind of the opposite of what you're claiming? Next time you want to talk about stating the obvious, make sure you don't bait the hook for the next person with half a brain to point your own finger back at yourself. Being against patriarchy isn't sexismsupporting existing patriarchy IS. Your attack on this person paints YOU as the sexist because you're so quick to bite the head off anyone who speaks out against the lack of equality in our culture.
